- New Electric Angels' Album, "Beautiful Skies"In The World And His Wife·5 April 2024BobK and I finally finished our most recent album, "Beautiful Skies", which was developed concurrently with our last album, "What's It All About?". Where the previous collection leans in the direction of our punkier/ power poppier tendencies, "Beautiful Skies" displays our Art Rock fetishes to full form. Track 5, "Strange Fascination" began as a poem by our very own Carole, "The Oracle", which Bob and I both took a stab at forming into lyrics. Tracy Stearns, Tracy_S, added some blistering lead guitar: it's a true Dreamsville collaboration! It's now up on Bandcamp and Spotify, and Amazon https://electricangels.bandcamp.com/album/beautiful-skies https://open.spotify.com/album/7znlEZityjplKxuKI4TuOk?si=LdqcQWZwQLKJh6V3Nddupw5378
- Simon FoxIn William's World14 September 2024Oh no...I didn't know until I just read it here. Funny thing, Be-Bop Deluxe have kept creeping into my thoughts the last couple of days, more than usual...strange really. He was a great drummer, immensely talented and no one else could have done drum duties like him, for Be-Bop.....I met him backstage in 1976, on the Modern Music tour. Me and my friend went into the dressing room after the gig and he was really warm and friendly, very unassuming..a really nice guy. I think Simon had tons of charisma and certainly the dashing good looks to rival Bill, back in the day. I'm so sorry to hear about this. R.I.P. Simon Fox. ..A favourite image of mine.53

- AN INTERVIEW WITH HAROLD BUDD.In William's World·25 February 2021Came across this live on stage interview with my dear, and sadly departed friend Harold Budd, It was conducted in October 2018, only a few weeks before Harold travelled to the UK to be with me for my 70th birthday concert in Leeds. Harold also, graciously, played on three numbers at the event which, I think, probably constitute his last ever live performance. The interview was done by Kurt Doles at the MidAmerican Centre For Contemporary Music, College Of Musical Arts and is a warm reminder of Harold's personality, his wit and intelligence of which I was privileged to know and share so well for so many years. But it also brings to the surface the deep sadness I feel as a result of losing him in such unforeseen and cruel circumstances. He was the most precious and brilliant friend I've ever had and I struggle to conquer the grief I feel from losing him. I don't know how to copy the link to the interview. When I've tried it doesn't seem to work, but here's as much info as I can get. Perhaps someone with more internet/computer savvy will help me out and post a more competent link. - Blue As A Jewel questionIn William's World·29 June 2020I've told a couple of people in the past week that Blue As A Jewel was not only the first time the listeners heard your e-bow playing, but that it was from 1978, appearing first as a B-side to the Panic In The World single. Feels like I've got that information wrong because Blue As A Jewel is included in the Sunburst Finish reissue and I remember being either age 10 or age 11 when I first heard Sunburst Finish as a new release on a seriously booming system in 1976 in the car of a significantly older friend of mine and I was wearing a pair of red-white-and-blue-rimmed sunglasses a gal pal gave me. We were en route or coming back from sling-shot shooting at Mt. Diablo (in Northern California). Nineteen seventy-six is obviously not nineteen seventy-eight!211568
- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World·19 January 2025Hey all, does anyone know if the new "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download has been remastered? Quite a lot of this collection will be included in the upcoming "Quit Dreaming" boxset, so I'm wondering if the files used here are from that set, and if the remaining material, which I imagine will be coming out on a future "Love That Whirls" reissue, has been also remastered in anticipation of that release. Thanks all. It was nice to see it up there, with "Acceleration" and "Hard Facts" restored to their proper place.211379

- Daryl Runswick, Brond collaboratorIn William's World·5 September 2020On the back of Brond finally making an appearance on DVD, I emailed Daryl about how he came to work with Bill, giving his more jazz orientated background, this is the reply I received:- " Bill and I were put together by a TV executive whose name I’ve now forgotten. He must have been asked by the director for something weird and vocal. I was at that time in an avant-garde vocal group called Electric Phoenix as their tenor singer and resident composer. The way the tracks were made was as follows. Bill would compose music in Yorkshire and send it on multitrack tapes to me in London (I seem to remember analogue tapes, though by then we were well into the digital era). I would compose vocals to go on the backings. The vocals were overdubbed onto the multitrack tapes at Angel Studios in Islington and mixed down there with Bill absent and me producing. For the CD and 12” single the process was reversed. I took pre-recorded vocals up to Yorkshire and Bill and I put them onto the backings at his studio. It was a productive collaboration and I found Bill a remarkable person. His spirituality in particular impressed me and I wish I’d got to know him better, but of course our two busy careers just carried on after Brond an we lost touch. Thanks you for alerting me to the dvd release: my copy is ordered." Very insightful, Bill, do you have any recollections? Listening again to the music there seems to be sounds that seem to be from the Fairlight, or something similar, how did you find using the technology that was very much at the cutting edge back then? - New Vibrato WonderlandIn William's World·5 January 2021Oh dear - covid's finally arrived! Feel dreadful, but never mind, i've got plenty of music to help me through - still feel like i've only scratched the surface though - spent ALL yesterday listening to Trial By Intimacy in it's entirety several times - amazing stuff & have been revisiting The Years & Plaything. Today, though, i'm concentrating on New Vibrato Wonderland & getting to know this album quite well now. I'm noticing a kind of fuzz/distortion/scratched record sort of effect on most of it & wondering if that's just a feature of my copy? I'm loving 'Hide & Seek', 'I Oil The Ticking Of Antique Clocks' , 'Mercuria Magnetica', 'Bless Me, Bless You' & 'In The Middle Of A Dream ... and ... this world is certainly Crazy Right Now - can't seem to relax until i know Trump has finally gone - currently obsessively glued to CNN to follow Georgia run-offs!38192

- Johnny Marr pays tribute to BillIn William's World·23 October 2023So Bill (in good company) may not have made it on to Rolling Stone magazines 250 all-time greatest guitarists, but when Johnny Marr recalls the pre-punk guitarists that he most admired, Bill's is the first name mentioned. Always loved Johnny's playing style and all round 'good bloke' persona, and it's really nice to hear him compliment Bill (as I know he has done before): https://youtu.be/NjY2O92ByNw?si=mxMscJGueeWEzes2&t=920(https://youtu.be/NjY2O92ByNw?si=mxMscJGueeWEzes2&t=920)45471
