- New Vibrato Wonderland - Pre-order NOW!In William's World19 November 2020Good points made by Pete and Jon...Looking back a couple of years or so, I was pretty set in my ways re. buying music, in that it had to be a CD (or vinyl), mainly CD, and I 'told myself' I didn't like downloads, period...Of course, eventually I took the plunge and fast forward to now, actually being able to legitimately buy and download your favourite albums and music is really great. As mentioned, takes up no physical space at home, very good quality, convenient and quick, sync across your devices. etc, etc..(and you can always burn a CD if you want.). I will still buy CDs, but I now recognise and acknowledge the merits of downloads, and to be quite honest, have no major preference over format, especially if artwork is available in the download package.43
- jean michel jarre and bill nelsonIn William's World11 November 2021Went to the Niagra Falls many yeas ago, it was grey and damp. A new version of Sunburst Finish? Hey, I've got much more important things to do with the remaining years of my life than regurgitate stuff I recorded over 40 years ago ! Thanks, but no thanks...43
- WHAT'S COMING IN 2022?In William's World5 January 2022Well, thirteen tracks completed for 'Man Of Dreams' with a possible fourteenth track currently in the works. There will also be two 'bonus' tracks of alternative mixes of two of the titles. Another jam-packed audio package! I'm toying with the possibility of changing the album title though. 'Man Of Dreams' is very similar to my '80s album, 'Map Od Dreams,' (only one letter difference!) I could title the album 'All The Fun Of The Fair', or even 'Signalling As We Go,' but I need to have a think about that and may even stick with 'Man Of Dreams'. Plenty of time to decide which way to jump as the album won't be scheduled for release until after I've released one of the backlog albums from my archives. But, meanwhile, here's a list of tracks for inclusion on 'Man Of Dreams', but please note this is not a running order. That will be decided later. MAN OF DREAMS: POSSIBLE TRACKS. (not a running order.) 1: ‘A SHOWER OF SPARKS.’ 2: ‘SOME JIGGERY POKERY.’ 3: ‘A COMPASS IN MY MIND.’ 4: ‘IN THE BRIGHT TWILIGHT SKY.’ 5: ‘ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR.’ 6: ‘A MAGIC FRAME OF MIND.’ 7: ‘FAST FORWARD, SLO-MO.’ 8: ‘RUNNING FROM MY OWN SHADOW.’ 9: ‘ MAN OF DREAMS.’ 10: ‘SHAPE SHIFTER.’ 11: ‘SIGNALLING AS WE GO.’ 12: ‘THE WEATHER SONG.’ 13: ‘CLOUDS AND HALOES.’43

- Non-LP tracks circa Red Noise > ChimeraIn William's World13 July 2024Would it possibly be appropriate to bracket Indiscretion, Dancing on a Knife's Edge, Contemplation, and Time Tracking apart, because they were recorded at the same time for a Kid Jensen session on BBC Radio 1? I think they were post Love That Whirls and pre Chimera (and what a brilliant session that was - those recordings still sound as fresh as when they were first broadcast). PS Great work TKK!43
- Non-LP tracks circa Red Noise > ChimeraIn William's World13 July 2024Yes, this is great work, TKK. Thank you for it. Agreeing with Ed's comment and expanding on it, to integrate all the various radio sessions into your list (see separate thread about the sessions) would be useful because the sessions all come with recording or broadcast dates and show what Bill's current ongoing work was at the time he paused to do a session for radio. With the exception, I think, of Contemplation, Bill rarely returned to a song long after first recording it - he's always moving onwards! - so radio session dates are probably within days or weeks of any first home recording dates. We're close to having a 1979-1984 (85?) timeline for known songs of that period. And what an exciting, experimental time that was! Dropping into that timeline such items as dates of UK and US tours would be a bonus as well. Thanks again for getting this far.43

- Axe Victim’s 50thIn William's World19 May 2024I am currently reviewing the release dates for the Discography section on here (although I have much work yet to do) but my research on Axe Victim says that it arrived on 7 June 1974 the same date that Jet Silver and the Dolls was released on 7". The evidence for this is a news piece from Record Mirror. Most records in the UK back then were released on Fridays so to me that almost certainly rules out 17th (a Monday). I hope that helps.43
- SO MANY ALBUMS, SO LITTLE TIME...In William's World·26 April 2019Will be mastering 'Stand By: Light Coming...' next month, and hopefully its companion piece 'The Last Lamplighter' too, but I'm also trying to make a decision on which of the older, unreleased albums to try and get out around a similar time. One album that has already been sequenced and just needs mastering and artwork is 'Amplified Dreams And Wild Surprises.' This is a definite contender but, as it is a double album and will therefore take longer to transfer to Fairview Studio's mastering computer (and require more artwork for its packaging,) its release will have to be at least a couple of months behind the release of 'Stand By: Light Coming...' I find it frustrating, having so much music recorded and waiting for release but the physical side of manufacturing and packaging can't be achieved instantly, it's a slow process and I have to be patient. I remember saying, in an interview in the 1970s, that albums should be released as frequently as magazines, i.e.: one per month. In musical terms, I'd still find that an exciting way to work but, in practical terms, there are so many barriers to the process. I can but try... A flyer for 'Amplified Dreams And Wild Surprises' which I'm hoping to get released this summer...43380

- Nelsonic StarlinerIn William's World·28 March 2019Do any of you have information on the Nelsonic Starliner LP which I understand was designed by and produced by Bill Nelson. The info I have says they were a better build at a more cost friendly price than the Gibson and I couldn't agree more. Gibson sued and shut the production down. I am the proud owner of one that I play daily. Any info would be greatly appreciated.111720

- Keyboard Based Album in Future? In William's World·24 November 2019Pardon me if this question has been asked recently, as I've been away for awhile. As I await delivery of the Old Haunts CD I've been on a Bill Nelson listening jag. Two of my sentimental favorites are Bill's re-imagined soundtracks for Caligari and Belle et la Bete. It got me to wondering if Bill has any plans to record a keyboard centered album anytime in the future. I for one would LOVE it. Also, Best wishes to your mother and you Bill. My mom and mother-in-law are both in their 90s. My wife is caregiver for her mother, who we moved in with us after she suffered a stroke several years ago. My heart goes out to you and Emi.28223

- Fil from Wings of Pegasus give his analysis of Bill Nelson's playing and Be Bop Deluxe from their Old Grey Whistle Test performance in 1976In William's World·2 September 2019Since one or two of us have been discussing Be Bop Deluxe during the Modern Music era, in the 'Remember your first Be-Bop gig?' thread, I thought this might be of interest. I think Fil gives a really good appraisal of Bill's playing, technique, song composition, structure and direction etc and the band's overall dynamics...You can see he is really enjoying the performance, in particular Bill's guitar playing. To be fair, we all know how good Be Bop were and we've all seen this OGWT performance, and they absolutely nail it, as usual, 'Down On Terminal Street' is perfect and a great recording...And Fil does touch upon Bill's later/current work, which is obviously a plus....I've been checking out this guy's videos for a while on YouTube and they really are a pleasure to watch.28533
- Random ObservationsIn World Outside The Window9 February 2023I've always been amazed at how much Bill interacts with his fans. Most other websites I visit have little or no interaction with the artist. Other than the occasional announcement of a new album, every few years or so. But, that's just my personal experience. I try to interact more on Dreamsville but I'm basically not that interesting, so I'm not sure it helps much. And, as I get older, I seem to have less to say. I do appreciate Bill, his team and all the Nelsonians who keep this all going. Cheers. 🙂2
