- Random ObservationsIn World Outside The Window9 February 2023Thanks for the reply Jon, and as I said, apologies if I missed anything obvious. But I kind of haven't, as to answer your question, no, I didn't receive the newsletter. To double check this, I've just done a search through my emails and all my Dreamsville PM's are there, and Bandcamp notifications of any new BN release emails are there, but no newsletter...In fact, no newsletters at all...=do you have to subscribe to receive these? ...and TBH, I very rarely visit the ESSOLODO CINEMA, and I don't engage with Facebook or Twitter (even though I have a FB account), so I had no idea whatsoever re Bill's Christmas video card.1
- Air Age, It's arrived, a weighty package, looks great, but where do I start ? 😃😃In William's World3 September 2021Well if my memory serves correct, surely the original release of Live! In The Air Age, received a few little studio tweaks in the shape of guitar solo overdubs etc, just to put a little extra spit & polish on the released product..a little 'tidy-up', if you will..Bill should be able to confirm that, but I think that's the case...If that is true, then the other live version/versions in this box-set will sound somewhat different, at least in parts, to the original album pressing, even if it's the exact same track/show.14

- A Bill Nelson GenealogyIn William's World20 June 2020Geetar Homer - if you get round to investigating Bill's Scottish ancestors, then the site you want is https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk . Registers of births, marriages and deaths, Census records, church records, and more. You have to register, then buy credits which allow you to do some research. Then buy some more, then more... :) My wife investigated her own family, and my mother's family. Apart from an eye-opening frequency of illegitimacy (!), the most notable finding was that one family of my ancestors were tenants of one of Bonnie Prince Charlie's generals, and the men would have been beside him when he led the capture of Manchester in the 1745 Jacobite rebellion.14

- New Core Ten Album <>In The World And His Wife·25 October 2021In addtion to working with Bob K on a new Electric Angels' album, I completed an instrumental collection last summer, which is available on Bandcamp. I've been listening to alot of Krautrock and it's inevitable influence found its way into this collection. It's been along while since I posted anything here, but I thought I'd let people know I wasn't dead yet.1449

- My Private Cosmos - initial impressionIn William's World20 December 2021I think you need to get a bit of perspective Bill. First, I left a generally positive review that I was enjoying your latest release thought I was not quite wowed by it (yet) – will it happen, who knows, some earlier stuff has made that transition over the years. I did not say all your albums sound the same, I said some sound similar over the last 15 years. So yes, you can add ‘Fancy Planets’, ‘Joy Through Amplification’, ‘The Years’ and some others from your list to my list of favorites too. I’m not ‘Orphans of Babylon’ though I have had these types of comments before on the ‘old board’ when putting an opinion forward that is not to your liking. It’s a discussion for god’s sake, not signing up to a view that we must always bend the knee to the master – you’re a very talented musician & guitarist who has had a long career I very much respect and lives in Yorkshire, but you are not a deity. I’ve just had a count I’ve over 100 of your CDs excluding any recent Be-Bop, Noise Candy, Dream of Everyday Life etc box sets. Do you think I’m buying them because I don’t believe in your art and music generally? “I'm sorry if mine happen to ring a lot of changes and don't conform to expectations.” – I’d actually prefer if you did something totally radical, perhaps a collaboration s due, and didn’t meet expectations rather than turning out a load of albums over 10 to 15 years that totally meet expectations but are way off of ever being considered on my personal ‘best’ list.14
