- The Love that Whirls AlbumIn William's World·2 January 2021Hello, I've just this minute signed up for the forum and I wondered if anyone here has any information about the recording of 'The Love that Whirls' such as the Synthesizers, Drum Machines, Effects or Techniques used for the making of the album. I haven't been able to find much out from searching the internet , there were some really interesting interviews from 'Sound on Sound' about the Echo Observatory but they were from some time later. I read that Bill used a Yamaha CS 70M but I don't know if that was used on 'The Love that Whirls' as it only came out at the time the album must have been recorded. Anyway the album made a great impression on me, I have always been struck by the ambient instrumental tracks, I could listen to whole albums of those type of tracks particularily. I hope every one enjoyed Christmas and New Year and I apologise for my awkwardness in communicating .26398
- WILLIAM'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF GUITARS. (A personal series of six string sentiments...)In William's World20 August 2020Here's an ad for an Epiphone 'tremola', (basically a variation on a Bigsby vibrato arm.)26
- Transcorder - The Acquitted By Mirrors RecordingsIn William's World26 December 2020I have now had a chance to listen to the 'offending' tracks and, yes, there are a few minor crackles on Sleepcycle, but all things considered, nothing to write home about. Carnival and Spring sound fine to me and certainly better than either mine or Mick Winsford's copies from our digitising exchange. As for Dancing Music and Rhythm Unit, these are not needle skips, that would sound way more clunky. It sounds to me like they have been edited, presumably due to some glaring crackle, pop or, indeed, jump that couldn't be otherwise masked. While it would have been preferable for better copies of these two tracks to have been sourced from the Dreamsville community, I don't feel it's worth making too much of a fuss about.26

- Live Track of the DayIn World Outside The Window20 June 2023Would love to be there, but unfortunately that's a little out of reach for me. I've never seen them live. Living most of my life in the deep south of the US, Sparks never came anywhere near. Can't say I blame them.😕2
- Orchestra FuturaIn William's World·29 January 2023Forgive me but I've been absent from this forum for a while, and have a couple of things I wanted to raise as queries. The first is about a live set by Bill's Ochestra Futura. If memory serves me correctly it may have been Nelsonica 10 in York. I was blown away by the magical sound created by Bill, Theo Travis and Dave Sturt and wondered if this had been recorded with a view to a CD release? Or if Bill could assemble the guys to make a fresh recording? I mentioned how much I enjoyed it, it was mesmerising, to Bill at the meet and greet that day. I'd love to see the songs see the light of day.26596

- Update on my "Netherlands" request. In World Outside The Window·1 October 2021Wanted to update the Forum regarding my request seeking help from a Netherlands resident. I am happy to report that someone has stepped up and we are in the process of getting our ducks in a row. Yet another example of what a wonderful group of people Bill Nelson's fans are! Although I'm sure we all like "Ships in the Night," we aren't ships in the night :-)3364
- 25th March 1974In William's World·5 October 2021I found this piece of musical archeology on another forum. I think this was just before Charlie joined to create the ‘classic’ Be-Bop lineup. Admission for the grand sum of 33p!33335
- WILLIAM'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF GUITARS. (A personal series of six string sentiments...)In William's World8 June 2020Here's a strange looking beast – my Eko 295. I got it cheap because there was a chunk out of the lacquer (you can see where it has been repaired on the lower left side of the body) and the decal was missing from the headstock (can't think how that got knocked off). Sounds great though.33
- Uppsala College NJ 1995In William's World·21 August 2021It's been ages since I visited here - although I've kept up to date with the reissues and new material. I know the subject of live boots has been brought up before, and you prefer to look forward and not back. I have a very nice (sound quality and performance) recording of you at Uppsala College, East Orange NJ on 19th May 1995. I believe this to be of a quality to allow to sell as a download or add as a bonus. I attach a text info file, and if the system allows me - a copy of the (non music) station intro. I'd be happy to send a copy to you on cd. It's 5 songs plus interviews and to me, the music sounds fantastic. It may be I could upload on We Transfer (need your email for that). Apologies if this broadcast has been mentioned before. The text file came with the flac files and I have done no editing. Edit: If this were made available for purchase I'd buy it. Edit 2: Bill - Signum Natura is FANTASTIC. **************************************************************************************************************** ************************************************************************************************************************** Bill Nelson WFMU, Uppsala College East Orange, NJ 19 May 1995 Interview and music with Bill playing live guitar over backing tracks. - Wayne Kramer RIP.In World Outside The Window·3 February 2024Wayne passed away at 75. We saw him a couple of times live. He was awesome on the stage. He saw me lip-syncing to the tunes and tossed me his pick. Sometimes the music was a bit difficult. He did what he wanted to (much like someone we know and love 😉) https://deadline.com/2024/02/wayne-kramer-dead-mc5-cofounder-was-75-obituary-1235813102/ A couple of great rock tunes Another fine tune ala Tom Waits All mistakes were made by professionals3396

- GigsIn William's World·10 November 2024As I get older I find myself creating list after list. Can anyone help please with one such list? I want to create a list of all the gigs I've ever been to. I can work out most of the content, but I need conformation of some of Bill's events. Does anyone have a complete listing of all Bill's gigs? Thank you in anticipation. It's amazing some of the lists I'm compiling. Is anyone else suffering from such a condition?33230

- My Private Cosmos - Pre-order NOW!!!In William's World22 October 2021We're currently travelling at the moment and due to a technical hitch/problem, will be unable to order until next Thursday or Friday, when get back to base. Question please, is there a limited number maximum on the pre-orders?..e.g. 500, or 1000?...or are they going to be manufactured as per number of orders put in? (plus extras, I presume, to put in the Store)..I would hate to miss out on this, it would be a bit devastating, as it really does sound superb. I hope I'm not running the risk of missing out..😐 BTW, not to give this guy any 'airtime', but the person already advertising two copies of My Private Cosmos for sale, with the signed cards, on ebay at £120 each, should be ashamed of themselves.. Profiteer.33
