😟 12 years already? Goodness me, I would never have thought that! Time is flying too too fast!!! One of my favourite musicians too, from one of my favourite bands - I still miss his presence in the world of music - a hugely talented man - gorgeous fretless bass, sax, oboe, keyboards, vocals, composition, paintings, sculptures - did I miss anything? happy birthday to Mick Karn, wherever you are and thanks to Tourist for bringing this day to my attention.

I must admit that I was very sceptical when I first read about PIL's possible involvement with the show, but once I heard the song I loved it right away and I can honestly appreciate Lydon's reasons for putting themselves forward with what is actually a surprisingly catchy track, despite the very sad theme behind the lyrics. Great heartfelt vocal by John in fact.

😎 Yep, I also saw this in 1967, but I can't remember if it was my parents or my elder brother that took me to the cinema - I would've been around 12 yrs young and therefore not oblivious to the abundant charms of Ms Welch, which may have been one of the reasons that this became a favourite film of mine at the time - mind you I was also obsessed with dinosaurs and prehistoric humanity, so they must've played a small part in the attraction 😅😏

It would definitely be good to hear from Bill himself once again, as it has been ages now, although I imagine he's just fine but very busy! If Bill can't commit to a new Journal entry at the moment, maybe Jon Wallinger could just nip in and put our minds at rest 😎

🤔 Interesting little thing but very expensive for what it is, I think. You could probably make something yourself that does the job well enough! Might even have a go myself one day 😉

I must admit to not being that much of a rap/hip-hop fan, although I can agree that this is definitely a classic of the genre, with a great groove and cool bass line 😎. Funny thing is that every time I hear it I can't help but think of the band Tom Tom Club, who had some massive hits the year before (1981), with Genius Of Love and Wordy Rapping Hood - not similar lyrically of course, but there's something about the music 🤔😉

I don't think you'd regret buying, if you eventually decide to, when you consider how limited this special edition is and the amount of effort put in by the artist's own creative hand - and really liking the music helps too 😉. Yes, I can see how parts remind you of David Sylvian - here and there I get bits of This Mortal Coil, parts of Dead Can Dance, smidgeons of early Roxy Music and little leanings toward Brian Eno. Ultimately though, the album is it's own thing and rather unique I dare to say 🤔.

Good to know it's gone down well with a couple of folk here 😎. The whole album flows really well and maintains just the right atmosphere from start to finish - thanks for your input.
