Just read Bill's article in the latest edition of Prog Magazine. Very good!

I seem to think I may have posted on this subject before, but I have an excuse; I'm getting old and forgetful. I regularly see a car driving round the West Hull Villages with the plate B9 BOP. Is this a fellow 'Nelsonian'?

I don't do much social media, so I have only just heard that Mimi Parker of the fantastic band Low, died on 05-Nov-2022. I'm in mourning, as this band as well as Bill are two of my favourites. It was my daughter who picked up on it by accident. There has been quite a lot of coverage of this sad event in the music press, I have since learned, but I knew nothing! I'm gutted. Such a lovely lady that I have met a few times.

"Caliban and the Chrome Harmonium will be issued properly/officially before too long as part of a projected box set of all the Nelsonica limited edition recordings. AND it will be given a proper mastering process, something which the original didn't receive. There will be no rarity value in any of my recordings, before long, as none of them will ever be permanently out of print."

After waiting for a while to be able to get My Private Cosmos, Postman Pat delivered it yesterday. What do I do with the plectrum? It'll be a few days yet before I can listen to the music. Busy with work! Just two more albums to get and I'm caught up again with everything Bill except the obvious item that not many seem to have!

I've been tidying up and I found this amongst my CDs. It was given to me by my wife who is quite artistic, for my Birthday back in 2013. I remember back in the early 80's that she got the same image, (without the Birthday comment) on to a T-Shirt for me and I wore it with pride around the pubs and clubs in Hull!

I was speaking to a gent I know this last Friday, and he said he was at a gig and saw Bill there! I cannot remember which gig it was, but I hear Jeff Beck was in York recently!

Does anyone know where I can get a good copy of the art work for each of the 3 packages containing the 16 discs inside the Super Deluxe version? The packaging is too big for my scanner! It would be nice to have a different cover for each of the 3 sets of discs displayed by Kinsky / Kazoo when playing the music. At the moment I am using the image on the external box for all the discs.

I have noticed whilst giving the content of my Super Deluxe version of 'Live! In the Air Age' the dBpoweramp treatment, that what I have always referred to as 'Down on Terminal Street' has been shortened to just 'Terminal Street' for every entry on the new package. I have just checked with my original vinyl copy of 'Modern Music', and it definately says 'Down on Terminal Street'. Typo or intent?

Is this a typo? See the 6 disc version, disc 2! Or was this intentional as it was a provisional / working title?

My super deluxe version of Drastic Plastic has landed. I have managed to get the audio tracks from the DVDs; (discs 5 and 6), in a suitable format for adding to the CDs to form a 6 disc set for playing. All is okay except that I do not recognise a few of the tracks playing on the section, Be Bop Deluxe in The South of France - Bill Nelson's Home Movies Filmed Whilst Recording Drastic Plastic. I would ideally like to add titles to this section. Can anyone help? I have so far in order of play: Her Presence in Flowers / Kid With Cowboy Tie / Tropicus / ? / To the Sea in Ships / On the Beach / V-Ghost / Over Ocean / Holiday Express / ? / ? / ?. Can anyone agree this and fill the gaps denoted by question marks? To be honest, Because I didn't recognise some of the tunes, I have used Shazam and I am just replicating what it has told me; (shameful)!

Tony Goes to Tokyo... is probably my most played piece of Bill's music. Whilst listening the other day to the sparkled up version on Transcorder, I remembered something I read about the song, (in Sounds?), way back when it was first released. If I remember correctly, it was written about Tony Mitchell visiting Japan at around that time. Was Tony the writer for Sounds that always gave Bill's music a glowing report, and have I remembered the origins of the song correctly?

Look what I found Squirreled away in my box of cassettes! I re-created it from my CDs and Vinyl and played the mix for what must be the first time in 35 years, on Thursday this week. It's all I remember except in reflection I think one track might be suited to a different mix; (Soon September), but the sequence is still excellent! Does any one like the look of this?

Can anyone help? I used to watch in the very early 80s a BBC Music program entitled Oxford Road. If I remember correctly, Bill made an appearance on one episode? Can anyone confirm this? Somehow I have the audio to one of the programs; (if it is Oxford Road) and there is an amazing track on it by a band named Epsilon. It is entitled ‘What She Says Goes’; (I think). I have managed to get the track on to my computer and it now forms part of a brilliant mix-tape I’ve created. I have tried researching the band but have discovered nothing. Does anyone have any information about them?

I have been playing Tramcar to Tomorrow today and noticed that what is labelled 'Piece of Mine' on 'Live! in the Air Age' is labelled as 'Peace of Mind' on the CD. Is it a typo?

I have today 'digitized' the double LP The Best Of and the Rest Of. The version of Blazing Apostles on it is obviously a live version. Can any one tell me which live version? Are the two sword like characters next to the title on the listing on the cover a clue? They denote 1977, so is the track an edited version of the one on Live! In the Air Age?

Post woman Carol delivered my super deluxe version of Modern Music yeasterday. I've listened to it several times now. Lovely! I like the two new items; the first versions. I must say the remastering has altered how the album sounds but I'm okay with that!
