Bad news. It wasn't the tape I thought; just interviews and the odd track. Never mind! The hunt continues along with trying to find 'Tape 34'.

It was 2019 when I posted this query. Well, today, 4 years on I think I might have an anawer. On one of my cassettes there is as my label describes, 'Interview with Red Noise, Rock On 18-Aug-1979'. I think I remember the 'Sputum Cups' comment being on 'Rock On' so there is hope. Too busy at the moment to convert the tape, but I hope to do so by the weekend. Fingers crossed!

Is there to be a FLAC download?

I don't care much for The Specials, but all else looks good!

I remember the concert at Sheffield City Hall, 13-Mar-1979 very well. It will have been the fourth time I had seen Bill Live. The bonus was the gig being broadcast as part of BBC Radio One's 'Week Out in Yorkshire' the following weekend. There I was poised with a cassette loaded and finger ready to press the record button on my Pioneer tape deck. The only problem was that I loaded a C60 and had to turn the tape. The Fingerprintz set was intact, but Red Noise had a gap. Thankfully the gig was repeated during the week so I recorded it again on a C120 and all was well. I recently converted the tape to MP3 to enable it to be played on my streaming system. Some time soon I'll attempt a conversion to WAV then FLAC if that is possible to enable playback in a better format.

Tourist I agree with your choice of The Comsat Angels. The first 3 albums are near perfect. If I extend my list to include 99.9% items they are in it. I still wonder why albums 4 and 5, Land and 7 Day Weekend have not been remastered and re-packaged.

Fantastic track. The whole album is flawless and in an elite club of 15 albums that I adore that have no faults. I agree. The New 2022 Stereo Mix is awesome! I'm listening through my headphones and hearing noises new to me. The highlights: For Young Moderns, Furniture Music, Out of Touch and Acquitted By Mirrors. Bad news from elsewhere though. I don't like the 2 new tracks. In my mind I can see why they were never issued before now. Sorry Bill.

Thanks Rezillo for your reply. It is Track 12, that has caused me bother. My first rip found track 12, struggled but eventually ripped it with comment. But when the same rip got to Track 18 it attempted to do 20,000 + re-rips so I abandoned the process On all subsequent rips Track 12 has continued to report errors but Track 18 has been fine. I am in the process of listening to the music so I will see what the playback is like.

Question. Has anyone had any issue with disc 3 of the 6 CD Set? I think my copy could be faulty. It has taken 4 attempts to get a partially successful rip. I'll know tomorrow when I play the music if it is okay despite the problem

Why not try creating a modern version of the old 'mixtape' you might have played in your car in the 80s! I combine tracks of many different genres often randomly on to a playlist on my computer and stream the music around the flat. If it works; i.e. sounds good and blends together, I will copy it to an SD card and play it in the car. There is usually something by Bill, but he might be next to A Winged Victory For the Sullen, Stars of the Lid, Mogwai, Tim Hecker, Low or Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood. They often work and sound great!
