Some of you may know that I'm blessed with some very talented offspring. I'm thrilled to announce that my son, Elliot Nelson, will be releasing his first solo album on Bandcamp on Friday the 7th of August.
Titled 'As He Now Appears' the album is a sometimes dark and brooding atmospheric instrumental piece with Elliot playing all the instruments himself. The album contains 11 tracks and was mastered at Fairview by John Spence,(who masters my own albums.) The album also features artwork by my daughter Elle Nelson.
The album can be pre-ordered from Bandcamp and you can hear samples from a couple of tracks by using this link.
And here is Elliot's Facebook page:
Those of you who enjoy the more 'left field,' ambient, avant, experimental style of music will, I think, really like this album. Check it out and help support a fellow traveller in sound. 😉
Just listened to all the tracks. ⭐️ Elliot’s an artist with a strong, original way of expression. These tracks are a breath of fresh air ... There is so much fresh air that swirls in many patterns given from the tracks ... The production allows the listener a sense of wide, open spaces ... Praises as well go to John Spence ...
Love the image, too, that photograph. Some sharp shoes. The photograph suits the music, being of no particular genre, it's as though it just landed here from somewhere else.
My mistake. Glad you cleared that up in time.
Yes, it's first Fridays of the month for ensuring all proceeds go straight to the artists. Up to and including November so far.
Just wondering if it may be better to wait until the last Friday of the month to see if Bandcamp are waving their cut again.
Very enjoyable indeed!
Just to let you know that Elliot has today added another sample track from his solo album to his Bandcamp page. The track is titled 'Beach Waltz', Those of you who pre-order the album, (official release date 7th August,) get to download the two sample tracks now ahead of the release date. But for the merely curious, you can hear the tracks, (though not download them,) right now. 😉
Just saw this post and listened to the sample track. LOVE IT. Cant wait
for the 7th ! Hard these days to find new stuff that I can get into.
You did a good job, Bill !!
Sounding good. Hoping the Head Winter Dancer album is also arriving soon.
I liked the song - had a good groove to it. And no skipping ahead either which I do sometimes with new bands.
The artwork is cool too with a kind of Lonely Universe, Dali's Car vibe.
Get down on your bad self, Elliot!
You did good, Bill.
Quite like the sample track!
Just listened to the title track sample..it's really good.
Right up my street..😎
I like the artwork too, quite unsettling, (in a good way)...grabs your attention, forces you to look, it shouldn't be happening, but it is....I think the unsettling aspect (for me), is I naturally associate this image with 'The Falling Man' photograph.
It's one of those covers that, even if you had zero idea of the musical content, you would want to play it to find out.
Once upon a time, I sent to England a Jeff Nelson 43 MLB All Star jersey T-shirt, via Opium. The All Star Game was being played in Seattle and merch was readily available. Anyway, it had Nelson on the back. My not so secret agenda was to encourage Honeytone Cody to play within our fair city. I believe that they were going to play the Crocodile Café. My wildest dream was to swing a deal so that they could play our destination resort with a casino amenity out on the coast.
Long story short, it did not happen. But I have bought all the Honeytone Cody products that I was made aware of. As this release will be on Bandcamp, I am hoping to buy it with all the funds going to Elliot. Cool.
