I did the 2008, 09 and 10 Nelsonicas...They were all great, but 08 was my first, the Golden Melodies one, and as such, a little extra special. Orchestra Futura were simply amazing at 09, spellbinding. Boy, do I wish that would get a release. I think it was recorded, but Bill thought the audio quality not quite good enough to release, I think. But I could easily be off on that, dusty memory and all that.
"Caliban and the Chrome Harmonium will be issued properly/officially before too long as part of a projected box set of all the Nelsonica limited edition recordings. AND it will be given a proper mastering process, something which the original didn't receive. There will be no rarity value in any of my recordings, before long, as none of them will ever be permanently out of print."
This seems like a project for the Mayor and Martin. There is music to remaster and photos to gather.
I always loved the playlist aspect of creating a project. If you can combine them with art and the opportunity for the Citizen to create their own physical copy, then great. Bill has his digital catalogue available for download, so none of this is threatening to his ability to make money. In fact, it could be supplemental, as we wait for the next release. I could see these as Bandcamp Friday sort of deals.
I think Bill's Secret Power is his loyal fans. Revisiting the Nelsonicas could be worthwhile.
Deleting all the edits below from a hard drive. They are just quickie/fun edits, and I'm not certain if I've posted them before (think I have, a couple or so), can't be bothered to go searching through old posts to check, so thought I might as well post them as a job lot, instead of 'losing' them altogether. Not fab designs, but they do exist.
...Single from the Tokyo Glow album, 'After the Last Train'
Just a little bit of fun, and pure fantasy, ofc...But, imagine one of these tickets popping through the door..😲😎
We can but dream..😊
If you need it
