Be Bop were great live and in the studio.
I watched the Sunburst Finish interview with Bill and John Leckie again recently and it was amazing to hear that Be Bop Deluxe played the songs straight through for the album with overdubs later. What incredible musicians. Brilliant album and great natural feel.
Is everything on TV today mimed. I'm watching "Live" at Worthy Farm on BBC 2 at the moment and it's clearly pre recorded. No PA or and far as I can see no electricity for the amps. I wouldn't mind, but it actually says "Live At"
On an unrelated note. My Be Bop Deluxe cup arrived from the Dreamsville store. Some great items in there, but ironically, my Drastic Plastic mug is ceramic.

Sometime not long ago, Colin Moulding said that Todd Rundgren had XTC record Skylarking the way Be Bop Deluxe recorded and no one in the band was used to doing things that way.
Thanks for pointing that out. Will watch that interview again.
