A (two-part) question about Modern Music

Hi there

I've been a fan of Be Bop since my teens in the mid-late 1970s, and followed Bill's work through Red Noise and his early solo work, plus the production work he did with the Skids, another favourite band at the time.

Anyway, I've a question about the 'radio tuning' montage that starts side 2 of Modern Music, and thought this might be a good place to seek an answer. In the snippet of John Peel talking, it sounds like he says, 'well, touches of Tumble Over there, still, nice to hear...'. Does anyone know what 'Tumble Over' refers to? A song, a group?

And does anyone care to speculate as to whether he's saying it in respect of a Be Bop Deluxe or Bill Nelson song that he has just played (as opposed to it just being a random piece of Peel talking)? Any suggestions would be much…

I always thought Peel said "Well that doesn't tumble over there, but still nice to hear..."

Any other interpretations?

Happy New Year

Good wishes to all Nelsonians whatever time zone/country you be 😉

Bill Nelson - A Beginner's Guide

There's a nice article on Electricity City's website, giving a beginner's guide to Bill Nelson...of course, you will all know all of this, but it's a great overview...

The playlist of the songs mentioned is 81 minutes. With the songs above the 20, it is 102 minutes.

The Acceleration Remix by John Luongo is off Duplex. So they got that wrong.

I am not sure if there is a way to trim it down to a single CD-R of 80 minutes.

I like the version of Electrical Language off Post Cards From The Future better.

Christmas best wishes
