Just yesterday, a BBC Sight and Sound concert clip from 1978 of Panic in the World appeared. Here it is...
A fascinating interview with Poet Laureate Simon Armitage who speaks about his appreciation for Bill Nelson’s music, especially early solo instrumental works like Sounding the Ritual Echo.
He doesn't seem to be aware of Dreamsville, tho'.
...or is this new Forum format unreliable in several ways?
It’ll take getting used to this Groups style but Jon saved the forum. I miss the layout of the previous one.
I really like the way that Armitage is aware that meeting or chatting with Bill might not lead to a jolly sharing of creativity - because neither he nor Bill rely much on others for what they need to create their poetry or music. This is proper respect - artist to artist. What is created is the point, not the making of friends or the meeting of heroes.
...But if they had time and the will to do so, I still think they could have several hours of fascinating conversation! Goodness knows how they would be brought together most comfortably for both of them!
