- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World·19 January 2025Hey all, does anyone know if the new "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download has been remastered? Quite a lot of this collection will be included in the upcoming "Quit Dreaming" boxset, so I'm wondering if the files used here are from that set, and if the remaining material, which I imagine will be coming out on a future "Love That Whirls" reissue, has been also remastered in anticipation of that release. Thanks all. It was nice to see it up there, with "Acceleration" and "Hard Facts" restored to their proper place.211360

- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World20 January 2025Also just noticed that when you go to the Bandcamp site to purchase the download, they're listing the 1-disc UK edition from 1989. So I'm thinking that's what's on offer here. A disappointment, in light of the continued delays for the "Quit Dreaming" box set. Guess for now I'll just stay with my 2-disc Enigma CDs and my vinyl copy. But happy to be wrong. Would love some clarity here.28

- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World20 January 2025Thanks for the clarity, as re: royalties and timing. My disappointment merely stems from over-excitement: I've wanted a remastered edition of this essential comp for 25 years or so, and I thought this was finally it. But I have the "Quit Dreaming" box set on pre-order, so more of my money is happily heading Bill's way. 🙂 I think if you look at the entry in the Store, rather than the Bandcamp link, you'll see that, at the top, it reads "retrospective 2LP collection - February 1985" and below that, under the artwork, is a very detailed tracklisting from the original LP. So that does give the appearance that this release is that one. Nowhere on the Store page does it clarify that the download is NOT that version, but rather the UK single disc edition. As I mentioned in my follow up, that becomes clear once you go to Bandcamp, though I do think it was reasonable to ask for clarity. Anyway, I"m grateful for your follow up.3
- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World20 January 2025Yes, the Bandcamp download is the single CD (UK Cocteau Records version) and is not connected with the Esoteric/Cherry Red box set.2
- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World20 January 2025Sorry to hear you're not happy with the digital download version... The track listing is very clearly displayed on the Bandcamp page, it also states that the double vinyl was condensed to a single CD for UK release. I don't understand where the confusion could lie? The release schedule for the monthly digital downloads are not just dropped in, but are prepared several months in advance. Had the 'Quit Dreaming' box set not been delayed, then this release would have been after that release. As for remastering...for the tiny amount of digital sales that Bill gets through Bandcamp, paying for a remastered version would make a HUGE hole in any profit he could wish to make. I'm also confused where you say the Store suggests otherwise? It merely says: Digital release January 2025 (Original release February 1985)2
- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World20 January 2025So I was this day old when I realized that front facing release pages in the "Store" are simply flown in from their chronological spot in the discography. Which makes . . . perfect sense. I was also this day old when I figured out that, at the same moment that a new release appears in the "Store," that page gets added to the discography. This kind of blindness to the obvious I would like to attribute to the vastness of Bill's catalog, and to the long history many of us have had with it. (This is going to sound like a rationalization, which it is, kind of, but stay with me . . . ). All those old 80s and 90s albums, which we tracked down on vinyl and cassette and CD, constitute one part of our experience with his music, whereas so much of the material released in this century we bought directly from him his various websites. I see copies of "Vistamix" and "Modern Music" in the used LP bins all the time, but I've never seen "Clocks and Dials" out in the wild, as it were. So "Two-Fold" comes from one part of my private Nelson cosmos, and "Arcadian Salon" from another, in terms of how I might view those two releases as per the discography overall. Hope that makes sense!3

- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World20 January 2025The down side of Bill’s ‘Cottage Industry’ releases is that they don’t ever get into the record shops, and subsequently don’t end up in the ‘reduced to clear’ bins of days gone past. I wonder how many people have bought one of those bargain records purely because they like the sound of the title, or the front cover, only to become fans of the music? With very limited pressings of the CDs, and being distributed solely by Burning Shed, the chances of someone stumbling on a cheap album and buying it on a whim are pretty slim.3

- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World20 January 2025It would be nice if someone cleared that up on the Store page. All of this leaves me sort of baffled asa to why Nelson would drop that version of the album now, with so much of it about to come out in remastered, physical form soon. At the very least, a fresh digital edition of this release could have been a perfect opportunity to revive the original track listing, as the Store, with all that detail about the earlier CD versions, goes to pains to suggest.1
- "Two-Fold Aspect of Everything" download: Remastered? In William's World20 January 2025Ah, I see where the confusion lies. You’re not referring to the ‘Store’ as such, but the album’s page in the ‘Discography’ (which is linked to from the Store). I shall mention in the ‘current availability’ bit in the Discography that it’s the UK single CD version that is available from Bandcamp. Hopefully that will help save any confusion.2
- The Practical Dreamers tour - Retford Porterhouse May 25th 1981In William's World·9 January 2025Two photos I took on the night. I apologise for the poor quality of these.
