Some of you might be interested in this YouTube video of the Synth Legends Symposium 2005. A very interesting panel consisting of Bob Moog, Dave Smith, Tom Oberheim, Marcus Lyle, and Roger Linn. Also, it was Bob Moog's last public appearance. Anyone interested in synthesis and keyboard technology should check it out!

Remembering Bob Moog, who would have been 91 today on his birthday. Brilliant electronic engineer who I met in the 90's at a John Eaton concert at the University of Chicago. Both my Moogs are still working and inspiring me daily. I also have several of their apps (Animoog, MiniMoog, Model 15) on my iPad.
Thanks for all the great synths Bob, your contribution to electronic music is huge! We'll always remember.

Remembering Keith Emerson, who would have been 80 this past Saturday on November 2nd. A brilliant keyboardist and orchestrator. I've been enjoying the box set "Out Of This World Live (1970-1997)" which contains highlights from the Isle of Wight, California Jam, Works Live, Royal Albert Hall, and Union Hall concerts.
I'd like to thank Martyn Hanson and George Forrester for remembering Keith in their books: "Hang On To A Dream The Story Of The Nice", and "Emerson Lake and Palmer The Show That Never Ends".
Also should note that fans might be interested in the Carl Palmer box set which contains his biography.
The music lives on!

Remembering Bob Moog today on his birthday May 23rd; he would have been 90 years old today. I still have fond memories of visiting the local music store DJ's to see demos of the Moog Prodigy and Memorymoog, both of which are still used in my studio. Meeting Bob in person at a John Eaton concert at the University of Chicago in 1992 was a major thrill for me - I slipped a cassette of my latest album Pink Sounds From The Purple Plain into his hand. Bob was always interested in hearing how composers used his products in their music. A very important inventor and engineer!

Wishing everyone here in Dreamsville a Happy St. Patrick's Day. I really enjoyed the Dublin St. Patrick's Day parade that was carried on our local PBS station, lots of fun characters, bands, and floats! Dinner here will be Corned Beef, Kraut, and Swiss Cheese on rye bread, chips, and a cold Guinness. Music by The Celts, Enya, and others. Have a good day, mates!

Ronnie Wilson, founding member of the Gap Band has passed away age 73. A brilliant musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Tulsa OK. You might remember their songs "Early In The Morning", "You Dropped A Bomb On Me", and "Oops Upside Your Head". The sound of their funky Moog bass was unmistakable along with their dance rhythms. Condolences go out to his brothers Charlie and Robert and his family and friends. Tom
