Just a question on the wonderful improvised guitar parts for many of Bills instrumentals: are they mostly first takes on the guitar? I'm guessing that Bill spends lots of time crafting the many background instruments, percussion, bass, keys etc. But when it comes to the main guitar melody, if it's a mostly guitar melody, is that usually a first take? Or is it recording a few takes and then gradually refining the final guitar part? I remember watching an interview with David Gilmour where he says that his best stuff is usually captured on the first 2 or 3 takes. After that he feels that he loses spontaneity and it becomes laboured.

Would it be considered okay to post guitar tabs for Bills more recent work? Would there be any interest? I found the guitar tab section in the archive but it's almost all of Bills time with Be Bop Deluxe. I've recently rediscovered Bills music and the only CD I currently have is Custom Deluxe. I've been working on learning (actually just blindly copying) some of the wonderful guitar parts for two tracks on that CD: Kitchenette and Synchromatic. I've been tabbing what I have picked up so far. Just wondering if others on this forum might be interested?

Hello everyone - this is my first post in the forum. I'm a long time fan of all things Mr Nelson related. I live in Canada but I grew up in Scotland and was a big fan of Be-Bop Deluxe back in the day. I'm slowly becoming more familiar with Bills more recent music. I've really enjoyed working my way back through Bills current journal entries and the last one is dated April 26 2017. In the archive I also found the Diary of a Hyperdreamer which has entries up to December 2013. So (finally my question !) are there journal entries for the period between Dec 2013 and April 2017? Thanks.
