Had to double-check the recent issue of Rolling Stone magazine featurting the TOP 250 guitarists wasn't a special April 1st issue. To me there were several omissions, most notably Bill, but others spring to mind. Was it the best guitarist or the most popular pole ? Also several wacky entries in it. Were the authors musicians or critics ? to me , it more like ill-advised critics ? And were they paid for certain entries to appear ? Has Rolling Stone got any relevance these days anyway in this area ? Wouldn't the list be more appropriate/authoritative coming from a guitar magazine rather than multimedia magazine with probably watered-down musical knowledge. The list is a total irrelevance.

The BBC have just aired a 3 part documentary on Picasso. Hopefully it will be available worldwide soon. I didn't know much about him before and I found the series fascinating , enlightening and at sometimes a bit concerning. I won't spoil it for others by saying any more. The soundtrack too was very good, especially episode 2. Highly recommend watching this when it is available in your region.

Hi All, Don't know how many have seen this instrument. So versatile and great sounds. This isn't the best sounding audio I could find but shows off the keyboard quite well. ... also like this song. Cheers, Rob

Hi Bill, Please accept my ignorance on this subject but I have just seen an advert for this device which can be used for guitars and keyboards that has received some good reviews. I just thought I'd bring it to your attention just in case it was worth a further look for yourself. Sorry if this is of no interest, but I thought it may be worth having a look. Thanks , Rob.

Sad to see this week that Status Quo have announced a new tour. One of the worst men on the planet and a fan Richard madeley announced it this week. Richard famously after 40+ years of marriage said that we wished he never married his wife. I bet that went down well at home, Richard. BTW, his favourite song is Caroline. They have promised that they will be playing another 30 songs on the set list. All of which will sound like Caroline. Enjoy!

Please can the BBC drop later with jools or more appropriately ' jools and his mates'. The format is tired and so is he. Wouldn't it be good to go back to a more 'Whistle test' format. Live performances/ interviews / news/ videos. Regarding live performances you could have: 1 established artist 1 artist on 2nd album 1 new artist You could have a 'memory lane' feature. Plus an established artist recommending 5 new acts Who would be the host? You would need someone dynamic, engaging and enthusiastic ( all the qualities lacking in jools - no offence to anyone who likes him) Men candidates : Zane Lowe? Greg James? Chris Martin? Brandon flowers? Female candidates : Jo whiley? Sara bareilles? Emily blunt? ( oh, I think I've drifted off into attractive women rather than actual candidates) What do you think? Has jools played his swansong!

Somebody pointed this out to me. I don't profess to be a good musician but I thought this was very good indeed and explained a lot of the mystery to me. Hope it is useful for those interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n7gscYo0ek

Hi Bill, I assume I've got this right, but was Richard formerly a drummer from the band Hawkwind ? How did you get on ? I assume he was much better than a certain Mr Rye ? Just interested ! Best Wishes, Rob

Times have certainly changed and I'm not being prudish. however, when I was growing up Pop music for essentially kids, teenagers , young adults largely avoided references to drugs. If they did at all ,they were pretty much hidden. I do worry that so many artists these days, who are such strong role models to our kids, make such strong references. I happened to be on youtube last night and a Zara Larsson song came on and it made reference to the fact she didn't at that point in time have any "chemicals" in her body, implying it was quite unusual for her to be in that state, in other words a normal night for Zara was being high on something. She , I would have thought, is a strong role model for kids, teens etc. What sort of example does that set ! This is just one example, there are many more from the likes of Halsey, Miley Cyrus etc

Hi Bill, Sorry if this is a bit off topic but I think you appreciate both Rufus Wainwright and Mitchell Froom, if I'm not mistaken. I saw a reference to the fact that Mitchell Froom has just produced Rufus' new album. Thought you would like to know. You may know this already but I thought I would raise it anyway. Hope you are in good spirits and you and Emi are well. Rob
