I have never noticed a difference between the two versions but even if there are, I am confident that Mick Karn is playing bass on the Duplex version.

My digital transfers are what they are. I am competent in dealing with clicks, scratches and volume levels - not equalisation or mastering. I am currently in contact with Jon and if any are suitable then they will be made available in some way through this website. Please note that the bulk of the tracks on Transcorder are absolutely fine. The issues are all with Sleepcycle, Dancing Music and Rhythm Unit. As for Banal and Flaming Desire, I understand that the rights are still owned by Mercury Records or their parent company. Does anyone know if the 7" version of Banal is the same as the 12" version?

Perhaps there are two pressings of that EP? Watch out for the line at the end: "No more time for me to prove it, in your head you're dancing to it." If "...in your head you're..." is missing from your EP that would be the explanation.

Thank you for the reply, Mr. Nelson. The double CD set is the Cocteau Discs / Esoteric Recordings version from 2013. Disc 2 contains the Wildest Dreams 12" and the Living for the Spangled Moment set. Your redesigned cover was for the 2006 Sonoluxe CD. The original cassette issued on Portrait has the following track list: A Suvasini Contemplation Theology Wildest Dreams Lost in Your Mystery Rise Like a Fountain Age of Reason Living for the Spangled Moment B The Hidden Flame Word for Word Illusions of You Heart and Soul Finks and Stooges of the Spirit Because of You (longer version) Pansophia The cassette has roughly 39 minutes on each side, with around 8 minutes blank at the end of side B.

I was always non-plussed as to why the cassette version of the album wasn't used for the CD version. By this I mean that the cassette version must have had a decent master tape to be replicated from. The running order of the tracks is fantastic (and perhaps "as the Artist intended"?) and it is this version of the album that contains the longer version of "Because of You." The 2CD set is fabulous but there's always that nagging thought in my mind - was the master tape for the cassette version returned to Bill or do Sony/Portrait still have it in their archives?

I'm getting towards the end of importing the fan club EPs and the odd track that failed to make it to CD. Along with the fan club EPs I've imported the 12" version of Banal, the 12" version of Flaming Desire and the 1989 edited version of Do You Dream in Colour? Is there anything I've overlooked?

I haven't digitised mine; but I may do in the next few days. Perhaps I should do all of them?

I agree that they are not skips on Rhythm Unit and Dancing Music but perhaps they were edited like that to mask skips? Whatever happened they indicate a lack of care in the product. Whoever is acting as the Record Company should be seeking to correct those two tracks at least. As for Sleepcycle, I feel that the clicks could have been reduced in volume. It was suggested that FLACs of the tracks in question could be submitted with a view to being free downloads. That would be a reasonable short term solution. Potential contributors just need to know the required bit-rate / sampling rate and an email address to forward them to.

I think the glitches on "Sleepcycle" are vinyl artefacts. I have commented on "Dancing Music" in an earlier post. I also want to review "Rhythm Unit" but it's not a track I've listened to so much over the years. I (and I'm sure many others) have the full set of discs and if an APB goes out I can digitise them. I'll just need to know the preferred bit-rate / sampling rate.

@Alec It's all there bar that couple of seconds. I can't see it being a different version as I think it's one of the tracks sourced from vinyl.

@Alec The lyric is "No more time for me to prove it, in your head you're dancing to it" but it plays "No more time for me to prove it dancing to it" - I've known and loved this track since I received it in 1984 when I joined the Fan Club and just to be sure I've played it again. "...in your head you're..." is definitely absent without leave.

Transcorder is fantastic but does anyone know why there's a couple of seconds missing from "Dancing Music"?
