Ha, funny I was a kid when I heard/saw the Heaven and Hell album and my mom bought it for me (I was a Yes fan). It didn't make sense until several years later when I heard China and it all came together. Have been collecting anything with his stamp on it since then. We now have to live "after Vangelis" but with the many years of music since Forminx in the mid-sixties we have very little to complain about.

That's a shame. I always thought he had the more distinctive voice of the early K. Crimson singers, "Lizard" always being my favorite of the bunch. How many more people will we lose this year? And... will this year ever end?

OK, I’m going to be ashamed to admit this, but my very first and only Be Bop Deluxe show? I passed out during it! It was Ram Jam/Be Bop Deluxe/Robin Trower at the Omni in Atlanta (Bill will remember the Peachtree Plaza). I had great floor seats and was already a fan of Sunburst Finish. The girl I was with had given me a couple of pills from her parent’s medicine cabinet and then there was a gram of hash. First thing I remember is Ram Jam and then smoking the hash and then next thing waking up during Robin Trower. Ye gads! Where the hell was Be Bop? Have been kicking myself since and searching my memory banks if any remnant of the Be Bop show exits. Sadly, nothing has surfaced. Insult to injury a friend I met later on told me the show was awesome. At any rate, I confessed this to Bill at Nelsonica 10, which was a make-good long overdue. Probably a lesson to be learned here!

I fondly recall walking in to Nelsonica 10 and "Interstellar Courier" was over the PA and I'm thinking "damn, that's some mighty fine guitar playing". Had it not been released yet? Still one of my favorite Bill-guitar solos on that one.

The light arrived in Atlanta. Have had two listens and first impressions are that, wow, this is really chock-full and Bill seems to be pulling out all the stops. I'm hearing similarities to "Satellite Songs" and gasp... "Blue Moons and Laughing Guitars". I don't know if the Brits have this expression, and maybe it's me being an American southerner, but this is a "humdinger"!

Always liked "A Star Named Desire". Pretty trippy arrangement of a sampled loop. Cool guitar solo in the middle.

This one caught my ears immediately and I return to it more frequently than most other Bill releases. Can quite put my finger on it, but it strikes me as being broadly cinematic and what Bill would (or does) sound like if he were to accompany an orchestra with his guitar. Mind you the orchestra has all the Bill flourishes and some fun upbeat drum beats. Overall it’s short and sweet and probably most unlike anything else he’s recorded. At least to these ears.

I seem to recall there was talk of a "subscription" service a few years back. We would all sign up for the "Bill of the Month" club and behold the goodies (this was a way to get around the feeding frenzy when Bill's CD's were released). That's probably impractical too, or would take a while to get up and running. But this came to mind.

Awesome, been waiting for this for a while. Finally a medium size official Bill t shirt! All I could get from Nelsonica 10 was a large t -shirt. Fits like a tent. Wasn't much for us little Nelsonians.

"That Was a Beautiful Dream, She Said" has been a personal favorite ever since it came out. Probably a Top 10 for me that I keep returning to. Seems to have all the ingredients: lush imagery, romantic lyrics, soaring guitar solos, etc, etc....
