The 2-CD versions were released at the same time as the deluxe box sets. The Modern Music double CD has undergone a re-press as that one sold out pretty quickly.

I once gifted Bill a plectrum made from a 1948 old English penny, similar to the one in the picture… He said at the time that it sounded good, not sure if he ever used it?

Those moments when you actually do spot an album are great. I have found two or three in charity shops, selling for a pound or so. Unfortunately they are very rare finds!

The down side of Bill’s ‘Cottage Industry’ releases is that they don’t ever get into the record shops, and subsequently don’t end up in the ‘reduced to clear’ bins of days gone past. I wonder how many people have bought one of those bargain records purely because they like the sound of the title, or the front cover, only to become fans of the music? With very limited pressings of the CDs, and being distributed solely by Burning Shed, the chances of someone stumbling on a cheap album and buying it on a whim are pretty slim.

Ah, I see where the confusion lies. You’re not referring to the ‘Store’ as such, but the album’s page in the ‘Discography’ (which is linked to from the Store). I shall mention in the ‘current availability’ bit in the Discography that it’s the UK single CD version that is available from Bandcamp. Hopefully that will help save any confusion.

Sorry to hear you're not happy with the digital download version... The track listing is very clearly displayed on the Bandcamp page, it also states that the double vinyl was condensed to a single CD for UK release. I don't understand where the confusion could lie? The release schedule for the monthly digital downloads are not just dropped in, but are prepared several months in advance. Had the 'Quit Dreaming' box set not been delayed, then this release would have been after that release. As for remastering...for the tiny amount of digital sales that Bill gets through Bandcamp, paying for a remastered version would make a HUGE hole in any profit he could wish to make. I'm also confused where you say the Store suggests otherwise? It merely says: Digital release January 2025 (Original release February 1985)

Yes, the Bandcamp download is the single CD (UK Cocteau Records version) and is not connected with the Esoteric/Cherry Red box set.

Ian also played bass on Rocket To Damascus, again off ‘After The Satellite Sings’. Other than that, I can’t think of any other guest musicians…although, it wasn’t this century as the album was released in 1996.

One of my personal favourites from Bill’s vast catalogue. Recorded during the ‘After The Satellite Sings’ sessions and features fellow Lost Satellite, the hugely talented Ian Leese on bass.

There has been lots of requests that Bill releases his CDs in digi-sleeve format, even though jewel cases are simpler and cheaper to design and produce... A 4-page booklet IS a piece of folded paper, how can you make 4 pages any other way? As for the 'Lots of imagery for no apparent reason' - All of Bill's recent CDs have lots of imagery...should he leave those pages blank? What would you have instead of imagery? Sorry to hear you don't like it... 😥

Thanks for the kind words Andrew… I have fond memories of spending many hours going through the Noise Candy collection, playing certain lines over and over and over trying to pick out the correct lyrics. I got to know all those tracks very intimately. I still had to buy my own copy when it came out though!!! 🤣 Lenin imports didn’t deem my hours of effort worthy of a free copy!
