I've been driving a lot recently and have picked out a batch of "best of" albums to listen to (yes, I still have a CD in the car). ELO, Roxy, Squeeze, Prince, Larry Carlton etc. etc. I also took a few of Bill's CDs that I haven't listen to for a while and when I put Illuminated at Dusk on, it just confirmed to me why I love Bill's work. The playing and recording are pure quality. As much as I enjoy listening to the other work, this, in my opinion, was way above anything else.

I watched the Sunburst Finish interview with Bill and John Leckie again recently and it was amazing to hear that Be Bop Deluxe played the songs straight through for the album with overdubs later. What incredible musicians. Brilliant album and great natural feel. Is everything on TV today mimed. I'm watching "Live" at Worthy Farm on BBC 2 at the moment and it's clearly pre recorded. No PA or and far as I can see no electricity for the amps. I wouldn't mind, but it actually says "Live At" On an unrelated note. My Be Bop Deluxe cup arrived from the Dreamsville store. Some great items in there, but ironically, my Drastic Plastic mug is ceramic.
