My favourite Danny Thompson story.... He was playing gigs with John Martyn - just the two of them. After one show, they found an Indian restaurant that was still open, and were soon enjoying a meal. Then some racist yobs at another table started making fun of the waiter. Danny could see John getting angrier and angrier, and tried to keep him calm - "Don't, John, it's not worth it!". But eventually Martyn could stand it no more, jumped to his feet - an angry bull of a man - and started cracking heads together. He started fighting with a few of the yobs, and was doing pretty well against them. That left about three or four of them, who suddenly turned round and glared at Danny. Now he wasn't a big man, so this was a moment for panic, or for quick thinking. "Stop!", he shouted. "I taught him everything he knows!". 😄

There is of course no way in which a charge of "malicious communication" could be made to stick. I won't bore you all with the definition of the offence, except to say that that projection meets absolutely none of the criteria for it. Moreover, if that's an offence, then every newspaper, TV channel and website which has used that image - and they all have - is guilty of the same offence. The arrests were simply a mechanism for taking the perpetrators off the streets while Trump is here. I am sure that he would approve.

Esoteric (Cherry Red) is releasing the BBD albums in two 3xCD sets, in July and then September. Remastered - presumably the versions done for the big box sets - and no bonus tracks with the first 3 apart from "Lights" on "Futurama".

I had a great holiday in the USA last April, in New Mexico and Texas, culminating in the total solar eclipse. I'm glad that it was last year, because I don't think I'll be back again in my lifetime. America, you are seriously f**ked. Just don't take the rest of us down with you.

There is a (positive) review of it in the new Classic Rock magazine. So at least review copies have been manufactured and sent out.

I was a bit disappointed in it did not come in a jewel case and not much info inside the double folded sleeve, just images. so a bit of a let down in that respect Have you checked the slot that doesn't have the CD in it? 😉

I checked the "2019 Stereo Mix" on iTunes - same problem. Same mix. The Futurama box set was issued in 2019.

I've reported the seller twice to eBay, but nothing has happened yet. The seller has a few albums - including "Custom Deluxe" and "Dreamland to Starboard" - which they sell over and over again. They can't possibly have that amount of Bill's two albums - unless he is Bill or SOS getting rid of surplus :) - and I assume that the others are rare too. The seller is either not delivering, or is making copies which are good enough not to cause complaints. There are one or two feedback entries denouncing the seller as fraudulent. I'm surprised that there aren't more. If you have the time, report the listings to eBay as fraudulent.
