That really is very nicely put Bill. I was born in 1952 and have lived all of my life, up until today, with Queen Elizabeth being the Monarch. I also don't consider myself a Royalist but I did feel a twinge of genuine sadness upon hearing of her death yesterday. I hope that Charles is up to the task ahead as King.

Well it's certainly got a similar G to D (I to IV ?) sequence. The tune that I mentioned has this. The melody would fit to those chords but I doubt that this is the 'inspiration. It has to be a Duane Eddy song I'm sure. Thanks though.

oh no, that is a great shame. One or two pieces that I submitted are gone for ever then as I can't find them anywhere on my computer...believe me I've looked and looked. I remember recording a lovely ambient /dreamy piece called 'Waking From Hibernation'. Also a piece for Dreamsville Summer which was like my own take on a 'Live' version of Cream /Ten Years After at a festival. I think it was called, 'Alvin's Big Red Jam'. Damn. Also, I'm enjoyi g the album,Not As Good As The Book by The Tangent...especially the so g, Ethernet...what a tremendously melodic and memorable chorus. The last chorus followed by an awesome guitar solo by Jakko Jakszyk...(hope I've spelled that correctly)

I'm enjoying lots of things by Marshall Crenshaw and The Fountains Of Wayne at the moment. Proper memorable pop rock with great melody.

Currently playing a couple of pretty obscure albums by Andy Tillison's early Prog Rock band...Parallel Or 90 Degees. This was his band prior to his current band The Tangent. The albums in question are, Lifecycle and Time Capsule. Search for them if you can. You will be highly rewarded with fabulous modern UK Prog Rock of the highest quality.

I also record my own versions of Be Bop Deluxe and Bill Nelson songs...plus my own songs and instrumentals I put all my music on Soundclick. There are one or two ...actually many more of these 'singles of the day' that I have never even heard of, nor sometimes of the artists involved. Yep, I've heard of Ringo, Steely Dan, New Model Army and Scott Walker...but I wonder where you first heard some of these others...what radio station should I be listening to.? Arthur Alexander and The Orange Alabaster Mushroom are about as obscure as I get ;)

I've never heard this song before...in fact I'm not aware of most of Scott Walker's catalogue. Such a simple backing yet so effective. Great vocals. A great song...I like it...and what these guys have done.

A lot of the CDs that you are listing are the sort that don't float my particular boat. I much prefer the more song based ones...After The Satellite Sings, Blue Moons & Laughing Guitars, Fancy Planets, New Northern Dream, Electric Atlas, Satellte Songs.... However, Theatre Of Falling Leaves, Gleaming Without Lights and Dynamos & Tremolos are all great instrumental albums...I could list dozens...there are lots of different styles for everyone.

I had to look up 'aetiology' in the dictionary. It's nice to learn a new word. :) Yes, Bill has gone from one new exciting phase to another pretty much constantly. I like the 1990s and his return to a more 'main stream' style of guitar playing ... with albums such as...After The Satellite Sings During this pandemic/lock down, I've been experiencing bouts of severe enuui. Digging out albums that I've not played for a while has kept me going. "Tomorrow I will be playing... Magnificent Dream People and ...Weird Critters albums". That's something to look forward to.

Thanks so much Steve. By strange coincidence, I brought that big 4 LP box set down from the loft today to see if I could find it on one of the albums. I thought that it did have the sound of that collection...but so far I have only played The Summer Of God's Piano LP. I was in the right ball part after all it seems... thanks...I appreciate you telling me. :)

Yep, it's as good as I remember.

It's just how I see them. I bought them almost together as far as I remember. Maybe it's the sci-fi title and artwork that makes me see them that way. Both are excellent albums.
