After managing an email to the man himself, I was given the signal chain, the effects of the day and the amp/cab and room it was was recorded in. I got pretty close , enough to listen and copy little bits, it helped a lot... the univibe provides the phase shifting which I thought was saturated amp bias throbbing.

I went down a rabbit hole with this, I did not spot the Univibe phasing, I thought it was mismatched valves biasing and I can get that YEARNING from modelling that. (but its wrong) I will start again.... or the third time.

@Bill Nelson @Twilightcapers , I embraced both of your wisdoms, listening to the notes and phrasing repeatedly and slowed down to .75 in StudioOne so the notes are on pitch but the time is stretched. I can now play the intro after 40 year of listening to it, I instinctively flow through the scale throwing in the slides and pull-offs . Thanks.

I ask these questions about a video as the one known video of BBTS on YouTube shows you playing with a folk (thumb over the top) and a natural foundational clasp of an F shape chord, My first guitar teacher made me Barre from day one, now I'm not claiming one is better than the other but the nuances of sliding and hammer-pull offs into the next box of fret notes is different. So that was the nature of my request just to help work out the slide-rocks-bends of my left hand over the frets, some styles are more efficient than others, some have to be learnt and some have to be forgotten. Just to make you laugh.... I was in a pub rock trio 1979, I was the bassist, I have just started earning and got an effects chain set up for our last gig.... Bass->Big Muff->Bass booster->Electric mistress->HH 100w head->1x15 cab... a small pub in Stalybridge (the Commercial )... we planned a big exit....so our last song was a half decent cover of "Maid in Heaven", nice edge of breakup guitar and my bass super thick with the bass booster, we all turned up, I could not wait for the outro... it came... ON went the Muff PI to add a lot of HF distortion, The Bass booster was already on, ON went the flanger on its deepest setting..... The sound of the D chord I fretted was so big, we gave the audience veritgo and were bouncing beer glasses across tables, the size of the room, the reflective surfaces, the standing waves all seemed to conspire... we got to play it one last time... such fun and the start of my journey into the vibrational energies and components of sound.

Its all Bill, lots of Nelsonisms in the production, the only thing I actually could not do was the to get the sound of the Boomwhackers with the Envelope/Phase sound from the tom toms in "Ships in the night".. but I just found the envelope follower in AXE-FX3 which can sidechain other effects so I'm hoping to re-amp them. None of the would be possible if I was never touched by Bill's Segway into "Down on terminal street", that just opened my mind 50 years ago.

One day soon you will wake and rise and you find a smile on your face, you will question this , why are you smiling, you think you shouldn't but you are. You will lose the sense of loss and then gain a smile each time your mother enters your thoughts or you speak of her. One year on, re-arranged the physical layout and have all the Midi inputs and control surfaces I need. I have added an XYammy to my Gittler. Still loving Studio One v5 Professional, just a beast. This is what the XYammy does, my Tibetan Throat Chant effect.

I get the points about lack of character owing to "No Wood" , but its pure minimalistic mechanics coupled with an AXE-FX3/GR-55 is a liberation not a hinderance. Even just going via a valve amp the guitar sings.
