I went to this show with my girlfriend and my high school English teacher. The Kabuki is now a multiplex cinema.
Gang of Four/Andy Gill was one of my favorites. I use to play 'Entertainment' on KSPC 88.7 back in the late '70's where I discovered Bill too and played lots of Red Noise
By the way, just read a tribute to Andy Gill on Pitchfork...I didn't know that Andy and John were at Leeds University and forming the band. The talked politcs and art in of all places a bohemian pub called...

Always been a massive fan of Gang of Four and always liked Andy Gill's stripped back, angular guitar style and sound...The first album, 'Entertainment!' and single, 'Damaged Goods', were, and remain, classics, and a big influence on me and my friends back then..I've put them up as 'single track of the day' quite a few times here.
..I had no idea he'd died, I'll have to find some news...and I kid you not, only this Wednesday just gone, we played a cover of 'Damaged Goods'..unbelievable.
Very rare to play any covers at all. so why this one (apart from we love it) only the other day, seems quite mystifying.....
Oh damn, another one gone.
