Only now found this sad news. Another shock and a great loss of a tremendously powerful composer. A great loss to the world of 'serious' music.
Thanks to alec for posting this wonderful interview which I hadn't previously seen.
My introduction to his music was The Shining and some years earlier with The Exorcist and those freaked me out, but at the same time it was expansive, this sense of something big and amorphous and that quality draws in the listener.
Very interesting Alec..thanks for posting and interesting leads for me to chase up/explore.
