I used to own a sampler on cassette from Enigma Records. There was a Bill Nelson song on there but I can't remember the name. It hasn't ever appeared to my knowledge on any other release. Can anybody help?
You could always go through the list of songs at https://www.billnelson.com/a-z-song-list until you find the one described as "only ever released on an Enigma sampler" 😅
My feeling is that you might need to give us some more info to work with on this.
The Bill Nelson compilation 'Strangest Things' (in several of his guises) included all sorts of interesting, individual and fairly rare selections. It may have included the item you are looking for.
Otherwise, I believe that Enigma just licensed a fixed set of Bill's albums for issuing across the Atlantic. I used to see pretty well all of them in what I now realise was an amazing import record shop called 'Yanks' in a cellar in the middle of Manchester. At the time I just knew that I couldn't afford more than one of them each time I visited the shop (quite rarely, because I lived elsewhere). So I only have three, I think.
This is a 1989 Enigma Records Various Artists cassette compilation that includes the Orchestra Arcana track “Welcome Home, Mr. Kane” …. https://www.discogs.com/release/1875597-Various-Enigmania-A-Manic-Assemblage-Of-Enigma-Recording-Artists
It's an enigma.
A very obscure sampler was from Voiceprint and Bills track was called "kinda fuzzy" a very Whimsy album style of song .....?????
