Just bought "Powertron" yesterday. Been digging into it and it contains some songs that I find very enjoyable! The 2 tracks that represent to me the type of playing I enjoy are "Fascinating Noise" and "Dreams And Smoke (Flow With The River". These 2 classic tracks differ greatly but each gets you to the destination.

"Fascinating Noise" is a pure rocker, that opens up the album with a blast. It is fast paced with a very high level of energy. Like its title it makes a lot of noise but always under control, never any notes thrown into the jamming that send it overboard. This song is on the hypersonic side and if you listen to it on your car system, keep your eye on the speedometer, like Bill did, you'll be pushing all cylinders!

Alternatively, cut 3, "Dreams and Smoke" opens up with this bluesy, juicy and fat guitar tone that is played slowly and precisely. It has a dreamy feel that is texture rich. Bill is so good on this track that I don't like to compare guitarists because people think its a competition, but sometimes its a compliment. The track has a similar feel to Robin Trowers "Bridge of Sighs" without the repetition. Both he and Bill make the most of each note, leaving enough space for the listener to hear the tone and its sustain. The notes never bump into each other. This is a must listen to if you are into a bluesy riff with some super solo's.

Since the Two-Fold Aspect of Everything was made available for digital download, I have become obsessed with Acceleration (Remix).

Originally a 7'' single on a picture disc, the only digital version I can find is on Duplex.

I'd hold up my vinyl to the screen to show that I have had the song forever. I just do not have a phonograph anymore. In fact, I had to take it down from a frame on the wall to verify that it said remix.

Worth the search.

I always thought that it should be the background music for the America's Cup telecast.
