I have absolutely no idea what the settings are for my Pod tones as I created them a lot of years ago and never wrote down what settings I was using. I tweak them a little depending on what I'm looking for in any particular song, but there's no mystery to it, you just turn the knobs until you find a sound you like and then press 'store.' Your ears will tell you what sounds good!😉
Ok, here's a very crunchy/rock kinda sound, suitable for those moments playing along with Bill on the quite wonderful CD, 'Live In The Air-Age', by Be Bop Deluxe.Amp: Brit Hi Gain... Drive - 3... Bass - 7... Middle - 7... Treble - 7... Channel Volume - 8... Presence - 9... Reverb - 1... Delay - a short slap-back (only a ghost of it). As for the speaker cab, I have this set to a2 x12. You can see how you like it with a 4 x 12, but in my opinion, it sounds just a little too 'woody' and 'dry' with a 4 x 12. Obviously you can tweak the Reverb and Echo to your own taste. I'm the proud owner of a Yamaha Revstar 420, and this setting works well in either Humbucker or Single-Coil mode equally well.
If you want to start a new thread (or continue right here) about guitar tones and Pod (2.0) settings, let me know and I'll share a few more of my own favourites with you... and any others fans who like this kind of thing..
I agree... but if you like, I can give you a clue to my own Pod (2.0) settings for clean Jazz!. The basic thing is to start off with a 'clean' amp sound ...If you still have the Line 6 'Pilot's Handbook' handy ... it's called California Crunch#1 in the book...so Hold and Tap, Brit Blues. Keep the Drive around 3 to 4...Bass about 2...Middle about 6, Treble about 6 or 7 and Presence at about 8 (all depends on what guitar you play)...but this is for a Humbucker equipped guitar. Add a little 'crunch' by holding down the Tap/Hold button and gently turn up the Drive control....just enough to emulate a warm valve amp sound. Add a little Reverb and/or a bit of slap-back echo. For another twist on this, you can add a little Tremolo, to dip into Hank Marvin territory!Hope that helps a little.
