I missed that - didn't see it reported here in the UK.
An important influence on Miles, turning him onto the music and culture of the late 60s, as well as being a formidable performer in her own right.
I don't have any of her own work, but will dig out "Filles de Kilimanjaro", with her on the cover, and track 5 "Mademoiselle Mabry".
(And having done that, I am reminded that it uses that catchy chord change from "The Wind Cries Mary". Betty is often credited as having introduced Hendrix's music to Miles.)
