A true pioneer. Anyone who has ever used a VCS3 or a Synthi A - and I'll bet there are quite a few here - should offer up some thanks.

I attended an evening class in electronic music at the Polytechnic of the South Bank, in London, in the late 1970s. We each had access to a VCS3 and a Revox, and, after the minimum of tuition, we were left to get on with it. You were regarded as a wuss if you connected a keyboard to the VCS3 :) Great fun!

I still have my "tape", in digital format now. Was thinking just the other day that I could see how I could treat it using the vast array of soft synths available nowadays. Liked the idea of basing something new on an original VCS3 piece.

A brilliant musician and inventor! I have used the Synthi V in my studio, which is part of the Arturia V collection. Also have used a version of the VCS3 in Reaktor. I know Brian Eno used to process a lot of sounds through the filter of the VCS3, which was an amazing bargain back in the day, when the ARP Axxe and Moog Minimoog were selling for a lot more...
