AI...just how concerned should we be?

There's a lot of 'information' out there, regarding the current state and position of Artificial Intelligence, and it's relationship and balance with human beings...It's continued exponential growth and development, and the many possible future scenarios, both good and frighteningly bad, is a subject that warrants very careful thought, consideration and respect...I think it's hard to say at the minute exactly what will happen, pure speculation, but AI's rather mind-blowing achievements and progression so far, can't be denied..the AI generated art of Midjourney and others, a good example.

Are you excited, concerned, fearful?.....For me, I think it's a mix of all these feelings, but I do believe this will most certainly come with a dark-side....only time will tell...possibly sooner than later..😐

I thought this video was rather interesting:

Key Developments in AI Governance (2025–2026)

Several countries have integrated AI into core political and legislative functions:

  • Albania (Diella): Formally assumed office on September 12, 2025. Its primary responsibility is overseeing public procurement to eliminate corruption from government contracts and tenders. While Diella makes "micro-decisions," the government emphasizes that human officials retain final decision-making authority.

  • United Arab Emirates (UAE): In May 2025, the UAE announced it would use AI to actively co-write and amend legislation. A new unit, the Regulatory Intelligence Office, oversees this program, which is expected to speed up lawmaking by 70%.

  • India: The government uses AI for taxation administration and is increasingly outsourcing administrative and welfare functions to algorithmic systems.

  • Israel: The military uses an AI system called "The Gospel" (Habsora) to automatically generate bombing target recommendations, which are then reviewed by human analysts.

Notable "AI Politicians"

While not official heads of state, AI-generated candidates have appeared in several elections:

United Kingdom:

In the 2024 general election, a candidate named "AI Steve" (represented by businessman Steve Endacott) ran for Parliament, promising to vote based solely on real-time policy feedback gathered from constituents via AI.

Belarus:

The opposition utilized an AI-generated candidate for parliament in 2024 to bypass political repression.

Pakistan:

Jailed leader Imran Khan used an AI-generated video of himself to address supporters during the 2024 election campaign.
