Learned much from this. I only knew of Shawn Fanning and Napster. I must've assumed that the MP3 was a US or maybe Japanese invention. Never knew of the ‘warez’ scene. That seems like a whole field of research and entertainment unto itself (documentary film, fictional film and/or television programme).
