The EVIL Gary Numan Trilogy
Gary is a sweet person, and I saw him years ago (1979) in Toronto. So far, I have paid my respects by doing two of his songs and writing a third piece that sounds like his song.
Why do I say an evil trilogy? In the first two songs, things come to an unexpected and harsh close. The nature of these videos is psychological, and things take an unexpected turn of events for the characters. Whether Gary would have wanted it or not, his music provides a dark backdrop to human nature.
The third piece was written by me to sound like Gary. It starts out like a Gary Numan song, but then deviated to something else. This one doesn't end badly for anybody. But it shows the horrors of confronting a new world where things don't align with reality. That can be pure evil in itself.
Very cool. I first started playing on a Harmony guitar, which was very cheap and the kind you see if you watch the movie La Bamba with Lou Diamond Phillips. My mom got if for me from the Ontario Conservatory, but she really wanted me and my brother to continue with accordion lessons. Me and my brother, Mario, would perform with accordions if we had company over to the house, and we would dazzle people with mazurkas and polkas. It was very European music. But I eventually lost interest when my tastes turned to rock. Then it became very uncool. Mind you, if Jimi Hendrix played the accordion and set fire to it on stage, that might have been cool. But I just wanted to set fire to it and be done with it. The guitar was the new love in my life.
