HOTEL ARIZONA(Take off on The Eagles)
This is my quirky, off-beat vision of Howard Hughes having insane adventures in the Arizona desert done to the music of “Hotel California.” There are many references to bands and Eagle songs for those who like to find hidden clues in the music. This piece was epic in nature, and the solo was painful to perform – my style of guitar playing is very different from Don Felder's. And yet I can't help but think that “Hotel California” was the Eagle's version of “Stairway to Heaven” but with a demonic presence (rather than a flight of stairs upward) and monster guitar solo ending. Dasha (Doreen Kool) also sings in this version.
Some might say this is epic camp... and I wouldn't have a ready defense. I have thrown in everything and the kitchen sink.
