THERE'S FAR LESS SCOPE IN MANY OTHER INSTRUMENTS FOR SUCH A WIDE VARIETY OF STYLINGS. A SAXOPHONE, FOR INSTANCE, WILL MORE OR LESS ALWAYS BE THE SAME SHAPE. BUT ADVENTURES IN GUITAR DESIGN BEGAN A LONG TIME AGO. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VERY OLD PHOTOGRAPH OF A MAN PLAYING A DOUBLE NECK GUITAR WITH A LYRE SHAPED BODY AND ATTACHED TRUMPET-LIKE INSTRUMENTS.

The King of guitars? Hmmm...

Great track!..😎 'Can't Stand The Rezillos' is another fantastic debut album, from a whole plethora of great debut releases of/around that time, leading into the early '80s. I always liked Joe Callis on guitar, which kind of melded rock & roll/punk/pop, was melodic, but always exciting, cutting and fresh. If you like Callis, check out his releases/recordings with his band Shake, same era. Here are a couple of nice tracks from them, which offered something a little different, including great cover artwork....A great little hook in Glasshouse. If anyone's familiar with Dune, that's got a touch of the Shai Huluds about it.

The headstocks of the Moneleone archtops are beautiful too. I really like the subtle introduction of red in this one.

These guitars are made by a company called 'M-Tone' in Portland, Oregon in the USA. I think they're really special with great craftsmanship. I particularly love the green one...

ANOTHER GUITAR THAT WAS IN THE WAKEFIELD MUSIC CENTRE'S WINDOW IN THE LATE '50s, EARLY '60's WAS THIS 'SOLID 7' MODEL.

While we are in an African mode, the great Ali Farka Toure. I saw him a couple times and his sound never failed to mesmerize me. He played the same electric both times I saw him. Not sure of its origin.

Great tree, love the colours, but I think it's the inclusion of the buildings behind and the slight offset angle, that makes this shot...nice one!
