- 1995 article on Bill in The IndependentIn William's World·12 April 2022I don't recall reading this before (although I wouldn't be surprised if it's been linked to here in the past) - it's an article about Bill in The Independent (a national UK newspaper), in the period prior to the release of After the Satellite Sings. The article's author, Mark Prendergast, says that Chance Encounters in the Garden of Lights is "one of the finest instrumental albums of mystical ambience ever." (I have a feeling The Independent website might require you to register for free to view the whole article, although it didn't with me - maybe I've registered in the past and forgotten. I can always copy and paste the full text, if wanted).23227

- Mystery album coming soon...In William's World8 September 2021Hello! I just discovered your music today. Someone who releases seven albums in a single year has my immediate attention and respect. In that, you remind me of Steve Lacey. I listened to the first Be-Bop album a few hours ago and am now listening to Dazzlebox. I'll do my best to fill in the in-between. Thank you and be well! -BL23

- “Luminous” released on this day.In William's World16 April 2021tlc wrote: "The last Bill Nelson released on vinyl...." ...Although technically correct (as far as an official release), that's not quite 100% accurate....There is the 1995 12"vinyl white label (sampler) promo release, of three tracks from the 'After The Satellite Sings' CD album, distributed by 'Resurgence', who also dealt with the original 1995 Bill Nelson box-set of 'My Secret Studio'...The title info given on the promo label sticker incorrectly gives the title as 'After A Satellite Sings'.. ...One for the collectors/completists.23
- Nautilus revistedIn William's World·4 December 2020I expect I'm a bit late to this party but I just found and am listening to the album from Nautilus Pompilius that our bloved Mr Nelson "produced" for the Russian band. I am absolutely loving it and it's a bit of a thrill. It's 1996/7 so is pretty much the era of Guitarboy/After the Satellite Sings which is probably my favourite Bill period, so getting to grips with this so late is great fun and some of the guitaring is up there with his very best. Why did I put 'produced' in inverted commas above I hear you ask.. Well mainly because to you and me, it's screamingly obvious that this a Bill Nelson album from top to bottom, with a Russian vocalist. Signature keyboards, drum samples and electrifying guitar. Wonderful. I know I shouldn't but here it is on the ghastly spotify cos I don't think you can get it anywhere else. https://open.spotify.com/album/4oj2cn7qC29Q8N6eL08tyI23156

- RIP Gavin BakerIn World Outside The Window·16 December 2020It is with a heavy heart that I share news of the passing of my friend and fellow Nelsonian, Gavin Baker, on Monday. I met Gavin here, in the Dreamsville forums. (It has been so long, I can't recall his screen name here, though I think it was simply "Gavin Baker".) We had short exchanges in these forums, mostly, until I finally made it to England for Nelsonica in 2008. I was walking through the hall at the Park Inn hotel, wearing my tie-dyed t-shirt, when a loud voice said, "Hey, Jerry Garcia!" I turned to see who had said that, and came face to face with a large, bald man with a smiling face. He introduced himself, we sat down and had a chat. That was the only time Gavin and I met in person. His ill health would never allow him to travel far. All of our other communication was online, either here, or via FB. For years, we chatted and just stayed in touch. Gavin was in ill health, with histoplasmosis, a disease he contracted from prolonged exposure to pigeon droppings. He actually lived much longer than expected. He was a giant of a man, a former weight lifter and wrestler. He played the guitar, and quite well. He was a devoted husband and father. Gentle (and yet fiercely protective of his family), self-deprecating and kind, he was just a good man. The world is a lesser place without him. Rest in peace, my friend.2375
