Plastic Mac ..from The Last Lamplighter...it's just an epic album, one of my Bill Nelson favourites, seamless gorgeousness. I'm not really sure how Bill regards this album, but I really do love it...it gets many plays, seems to get stronger with each listen and I never tire..I can listen two or three times in a row when I play it, and then want another couple of plays. So, my advice is, if you don't have this gem, do yourself a favour...great lyrics as well, some very relevant to what's happening, and indeed what's not happening, right now..😎

Tourist I agree with your choice of The Comsat Angels. The first 3 albums are near perfect. If I extend my list to include 99.9% items they are in it. I still wonder why albums 4 and 5, Land and 7 Day Weekend have not been remastered and re-packaged.

Yes-he made U.N.C.L.E. more interesting, and watchable.Read somewhere that his Dad suggested violin bow on guitar to a young Jimmy Page in his session days, as McCallum Sr. was also a session player.

Mmm...Well, he's certainly not made a Christmas appearance here at Dreamsville, which is very strange, out of character and somewhat worrying. If it's health related, totally understandable, but someone mentioned Bill had been writing on his FB page, so, I don't know...Just what is going on?...I expect many here are thinking the same thing, so I've said it for you. I hope Bill is ok and well...But he's not connected with this site in quite a long time, so some communication/update would be nice/appreciated....A concerned fan and forum member.

Just to clarify... The title track (more than 15 minutes) is a vocal performance that collages Dreamsville forum members’ submitted lyrics (mine included). The track is called 'Welcome to the Dream Transmission Pavilion', so it isn't the title track of 'Non-Stop Mystery Action'. 😉 Also, and more importantly, this track includes a poem that was written entirely by Bill and is NOT the 'Dreamsville Poetry Experiment', which has never been released on a CD in its poetic state, although a revamped instrumental version was included on 'Mazda Kaleidoscope' called "Blue Skies Listen, the Unstruck Bell".

Does Loose Routes - Musics From Holyground 1966-1975 contain 2 Bill Nelson/Global Village songs not found anywhere else?

Hi there: May the New Year bring happiness to all Bill Nelson fans. Question please. Years ago when the tremendous Electrotype (The Holyground Recordings 1968-1972) CD came out I thought the 12 Global Village songs with Bill Nelson were all that have survived over the years. Today I came across the song listing on Various – Loose Routes - Musics From Holyground 1966-1975 and it shows 3 Global Village tracks. 1 seems to be a repeat of the Electrotype release Country Season (listed as Country Seasons). However, the tunes Global Fantasy and Country Mouse seem unique. Is this true and is Bill on the tracks in any capacity (vocals and or instrumentation)? Thank you for your clarification. Tony Hadley, ‘massive Bill Nelson fan’

The music he is known for has never been my kind of thing but - I must say - when attending (as a teacher) one of the huge concerts for 'Young Voices' a few years back I was hugely impressed with how he really threw himself into performing for the adult audience and alongside the singing kids. I've had a (slightly grudging) respect for him ever since. AND he was treated like shit by Gary Kemp simply for wanting to carry on singing the songs that he was best known for, so my sympathy there as well. I'd have never expected the 'massive fan of Bill Nelson' bit but he's continuing to go up in my estimation.

MY NEW GRETSCH WHITE FALCON.

I remember seeing a photograph, back in the 1960's, of a band called 'The Cresters' whose guitarist had a 1962 White Falcon, exactly like the limited edition reissue I've just bought. I think The Cresters were from Sheffield, though I could be wrong. Their guitarist was called Richard Harding. Here's an old publicity photo' of him with his White Falcon. I thought the guitar looked fabulous and seeing The Cresters with one, plus reading about the guitar in the Gretsch catalogue, set my wheels in motion to finally have one of my own today...
