- Single Bill Nelson Track of the DayIn William's World7 March 2021Lamps Are Lit In The Land Of Tomorrow...sticking with Mazda Kaleidoscope, It's been my album of choice this weekend (all three)..It's been a while since I played it/them to be honest, and I always knew they were among my favourites..however, sometimes the hectic nature of life means we can't fit everything in and the old memory fades a little..But!, I'm so glad I reacquainted myself..Put simply, Mazda Kaleidoscope has been an absolutely wonderful listen the last couple of days, it's even better than I remember, so deep, rich and soulful..absolutely fantastic. Anyone who doesn't have the CD, if you buy the download version, it could quite easily be the best, most rewarding tenner you ever spend. Mazda Kaleidoscope, firmly in my favourite Bill Nelson releases...knockout! I'm listening to it right now, 'Evening Illuminator' at the min, wonderful. Can't wait to play the album tomorrow.25

- END OF AN ERA...In William's World17 September 2022it's the obsoleteness of the whole farce and the willingness of people to be serfs. all those fawning over the royal family do so because of their being brainwashed by the vacuous media who encourage the drive to keep people in their place and know their place. Whereas those who think for themselves and actually seek knowledge tend to know different25

- WILLIAM'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF GUITARS. (A personal series of six string sentiments...)In William's World18 November 2021A rather poor quality photograph I found on the internet of me playing a guitar I'd virtually forgotten about, back in the early Be Bop Deluxe days. It's a Hayman guitar which I'd bought from The Wakefield Music Centre in the early '70s. It wasn't a bad guitar, though rather unappealing to look at and I now wonder what drew me to it, being so attracted by fabulous looking instruments, but perhaps in those days I wasn't so concerned by aesthetics...32
- WILLIAM'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF GUITARS. (A personal series of six string sentiments...)In William's World14 July 2021Some of you may remember this from earlier in the thread. I finally succumbed as I have a birthday with a zero in it coming up. It's a Hü Tonelabs Psychlone GT. I had to get it imported from the US and apparently only Rachel Goswell from Slowdive has one in the UK... apart from me now.😀 It played straight out of the box and has a distinctive tone.32

- END OF AN ERA...In William's World19 September 2022Also (IMHO), I think Bill meant this thread as a moment of quiet reflection, for a time that has passed for us all, emphatically underscored by the passing of the Queen, a definitive marker in time, and the transition we all now make into an ever-changing world and uncertain future.. Just a quick comment on the negative remarks, rather like a book of remembrance, one would sign the book, perhaps punctuated with a thoughtful sentiment, or not write any words at all..certainly not write anything insulting or vitriolic. In other words showing some respect and dignity. This thread was never about whether anyone is pro or anti monarchist and the arguments thereof, so I would have expected people to exercise a little restraint and shown some good manners and just not posted anything at all if they felt so bitter and negative. Of course, it's a free world, but really??..If that's the way you feel, wouldn't it have been better to, say for example, start a thread in The World Outside The Window, something along the lines of 'Do you believe in the Monarchy?', where people could voice an opinion either way? Bill Nelson is a kind, warm-hearted, and generous individual, who is also very tolerant, and both he and Jon and the team trust us to get on with it and act accordingly, showing mutual respect and consideration. Of course, it goes off the rails now and then, but never anything major really, and that's just life...But for those ('members' I've never heard of before) who have had a direct pop at Bill in this thread, on his own forum, well, that says much more about them, than it does about Bill...It really does go beyond the pale.32

- WILLIAM'S WONDERFUL WORLD OF GUITARS. (A personal series of six string sentiments...)In William's World24 January 2021Here's an oddity I think I may have commented on before: The late, great Roy Orbison with his Gretsch-Gibson hybrid guitar. The body appears to be a variation on a Gretsch Country Club model, but in black rather than the usual Cadillac Green, and, from the look of those four switches on the top bout, is equipped with the rare Gretsch stereo wired pickup configuration, (though the neck pickup appears to be a Gibson P-90 rather than a Gretsch Filtertron.) The neck itself however, is clearly a Gibson one, similar to those found on other Gibson archtops at the time. (The headstock design is a dead giveaway too.) Whether this guitar was a custom order from Gretsch or an aftermarket luthier modified job, I have no idea. But it's a totally unique instrument. If anyone out there knows the story, I'd be interested to read it.32
