- Danny ThompsonIn World Outside The Window25 September 2025My favourite Danny Thompson story.... He was playing gigs with John Martyn - just the two of them. After one show, they found an Indian restaurant that was still open, and were soon enjoying a meal. Then some racist yobs at another table started making fun of the waiter. Danny could see John getting angrier and angrier, and tried to keep him calm - "Don't, John, it's not worth it!". But eventually Martyn could stand it no more, jumped to his feet - an angry bull of a man - and started cracking heads together. He started fighting with a few of the yobs, and was doing pretty well against them. That left about three or four of them, who suddenly turned round and glared at Danny. Now he wasn't a big man, so this was a moment for panic, or for quick thinking. "Stop!", he shouted. "I taught him everything he knows!". 😄11
- Robert Monroe, OOBE NDE ETC.In World Outside The Window·20 September 2025We're through the looking glass now, attempting controlled NDE and/or OOBE experience. I've removed myself from my body a couple of times in dreams recently, flown around and stuff. Dreams not as energized and intense and mind blowing as many that I've had over the years , but very significant because of the conscious (in dreamland) effort and act of separation. One of the most interesting aspects was that both times when I woke up, I was confused, because I didn't understand that I had gone to sleep. Normally when you wake up from a dream, you come back to this reality and it makes sense that yeah, you were dreaming and now you're awake. This was different. Waking up in ths reality didn't make sense because I thought I was awake. The point (not the ultimate point and purpose of OOB exploration, which is, of course, unlimited) of the original effort is to transition from body awake, mind awake state to body "asleep", mind awake state, not lucid dreaming, but conscious disconnection from the physical. Of course, the internet and youtube are jam packed with a mishmash of all types of material along these lines, but I feel like we (Mrs. S. and I) have honed in on some of "the real deal". Bob Monroe was a very interesting guy. Darius J. Wright for a walk on the wild side. Tom Campbell for a more scientific approach. Well, back to the rabbit holes 😀2463
- Orchestra Futura Live - Vinyl interest...In William's World·10 September 2025For those that missed the announcement in the recent newsletter... Orchestra Futura - Live Album Update Following years of planning and preparation, a CD of Bill Nelson’s Orchestra Futura is nearing fruition. Many people have commented about how much they enjoyed Orchestra Futura's sets at Nelsonicas and how they would like to have an album released by the trio, comprising of Bill with Theo Travis on saxophone and flute (Soft Machine/Robert Fripp/ David Sylvian) and Dave Sturt on bass (Gong/Jade Warrior). Theo and Dave also appeared with Bill as members of the Gentlemen Rocketeers and on the Live at Metropolis DVD. An album's worth of Orchestra Futura performances recorded at various live shows has now been mixed and Bill is overseeing the entire project. Mastering is happening this week at one of London’s top mastering studios and the artwork is currently being designed using the working title of 'Live At Nelsonica'. The album will be released independently on Theo's Ethersounds label. There will be a crowdfunding campaign with various options to raise funds to complete the project prior to its release - more details about that will be announced shortly. Watch this space! There are also rumblings that there could be a very limited number of vinyl copies pressed...however, this would be dependant upon demand as vinyl is expensive to produce. To better judge interest in a vinyl edition, it would be appreciated if you could send an email registering your desire to own a (vinyl) copy. The vinyl edition would cost approximately £25 plus postage. And to sweeten the pot even more...we’d like to know if you’d be willing to pre-order an autographed copy; only 50 would be made available, and would sell for approximately £45 plus postage. If either of these options sound appealing to you, please send a quick email to info@billnelson.com so that we can gauge interest. (Note: the original email link was causing issues for some people, so I have provided an alternative one). If you have already been in touch and I have replied, or commented on the forum and I have replied that you're on the list, there's no need to do so again - we shall be in touch should there be enough interest to go ahead with the vinyl release.68475
- Your Favourite Promo Music Vid'sIn World Outside The Window19 September 2025Great job researching, Tourist. Just found out that the location of the promo shoot was the Barbican building site, central London. Regarding Jade Warrior, in the spaghetti western film called “Bad Man’s River” (1971) starring Lee Van Cleef at around the 40-minute mark, there’s a Jade Warrior song, also called “Bad Man’s River”.. The band modified their song "Too Many Heroes" to create the film version, but "Too Many Heroes" has a totally different melody for the chorus. The film’s available on YouTube…. It’s also available isolated on YouTube…. Here’s “Too Many Heroes”….2
- Robert Monroe, OOBE NDE ETC.In World Outside The Window21 September 2025I worked with the NHS for 33 years. They sent me on a course run by a support organisation for terminally ill patients. They used Robert Munroe’s methods to induce OOBEs, the rational being that once a patient experienced that they could exist outwith their body, their fear of the inevitable would be gone. Interesting that the NHS were subscribing to this as an intervention for patients. Cutting edge stuff you won’t hear about…11

- Rick Davies, of Supertramp, dies aged 81In World Outside The Window·8 September 2025I will always remember hearing 'Crime Of The Century', for the very first time, way back in 1974, at my friends house, who lived just a couple of houses down the road We were both 14. It was his brothers album. He walked through the front door, about half way through the second side, and , let's just say, he was not best pleased we had put his record on. I bought the album myself, shortly after, and still have the original LP....remains a favourite.4263

- Your Favourite Promo Music Vid'sIn World Outside The Window10 September 2025What a great little single, fab catchy song and really like the vocals/harmonies. Love the Gretsch Tennessean, and his cool little solo. Nice promo too!, looks great and unexpected/unique location to film it. I mean, the drummer counts it in, then vanishes😲😂, there has to be a reason. Got to admit, I know next to nothing about this band, but have just read up a little on their history and various iterations, and it's quite a fascinating read...In actual fact, they do (kind of), indirectly link to Orchestra Futura, via Dave Sturt...Unit 4+2's final line up, consisted of Tommy Moeller remaining as the front man and only original member, with a totally new band, including Glyn Havard (bass and vocals), Allan Price (drums and vocals) and Tony Duhig (guitar). According to what it says, this lineup only lasted 2 or 3 months and then they broke up for good. Havard, Duhig and Price then went on to play in avant-garde progressive group "Jade Warrior", who Dave Sturt now plays for, with Glyn Havard, still playing. The rock music family tree stretches quite a way and is quite a thing.😎 ...well, that's the gist of it, anyway. I'll do a little more (detailed) research on this. Thanks for posting Alec.1

- Sassafras..anyone else remember them?In World Outside The Window5 September 2025I went back when my mum passed - 2017. I actually stayed in my home town of Hucknall for most of the time, but people I know say stay well clear. It's funny cause I used to work there (Alfreton Rd) and loved it in the 70's.
