- Sunburst Finish deluxe boxset repressIn William's World·28 November 2021For anyone looking for a copy of the Sunburst Finish deluxe version boxset and contemplating paying silly ebay money for it, I've noticed that Cherry Red are repressing the original 2018 release. The release date is 4th Feb next year:- https://www.cherryred.co.uk/product/be-bop-deluxe-sunburst-finish-3cd-1dvd-limited-edition-deluxe-boxset/ On the subject of reissues, I've also noticed that the hard to find Chimera CD from 2005 has recently been reissued by Universal Music and is available at Burning Shed for under a tenner:- https://burningshed.com/store/billnelson/bill-nelson_chimera_cd12216
- I just bought something very cool.In William's World15 October 2020Don't know if you've had a Duesenberg trem before, but I found the first time I fitted and tightened it on my Backlund 100 DLX, it came loose after a couple of days, so if you're going to be using it in a gig setting, I'd make sure it's tightened to the max on the night. Nothing more embarrassing than going for a divebomb and having the tremolo arm come out in your hand!12

- Bill Nelson stuff for sale. Acquitted byMirrors. In William's World·26 April 2022Hi everyone, I have a few Bill Nelson related items that I would like to move along and thought that going directly to other fans, who would appreciate what they are, would be the best route. I have CD's, box sets, fan club magazines, LP's, badges, a framed music paper advert etc. As I'm not a trader and I'm not set up with an Ebay or business account, rather than advertising all of the items at one go and getting loads of enquiries and/or offers I thought of doing one at a time and seeing how things go. So, here goes, first item Acquitted by Mirrors fan club magazines - issues 1 to 15 inclusive plus 7 x club 7" EP's and various ABM correspondence, letters/cards and merchandise list sheets. Offers? Additional details/pictures available if required.12365
- Metaphysical JerksIn William's World·12 January 2023There are two versions of this song, one on the Yukihiro Takahashi release 'Stranger Things Have Happened' which features Mick Karn on bass, and another on the compilation 'Duplex' which was meant to be from the Chimera sessions. The CD liner notes seem to imply Bill Nelson played bass on this version though, does anyone know for sure if that's true? Since Karn played on Glow World for Chimera, it makes me wonder if it was him on this version too.12313
- RIP Jean-Jacques Goldman's SanityIn World Outside The Window·26 August 2023On the 24th of August, 2023, French musician Jean-Jacques Goldman's sanity unfortunately passed away. French writer and historian Ivan Jablonka, noted for several award nominations, sadly wrote an unauthorized biography on Jean-Jacques Goldman that drew the ire of the man himself. Goldman, who had been living a quiet life out of the spotlight for many years, told a journal that he had no involvement with the recent biography by Jablonka and that he felt sad that people were tricked into buying it.1266

- 2 TICKETS AVAILABLE FOR OLD HAUNTS LAUNCHIn William's World·3 November 2019Due to the very sudden death of my mother-in-law, my good lady wife and I will no longer be able to attend the Old Haunts launch on Saturday coming. My two tickets are therefore available at face value to any Bill fan who missed out on the original sale--I can either send them to you(I've printed off hard copies), or forward my email link to the ticket booking website. I'm obviously disappointed to miss Bill play, but I'm sure whoever gets my tickets will enjoy the event for me in absentia. I'm going to leave this offer active for 48 hours--I'd insured the tickets, so if they don't sell I'll hopefully be able to claim back my outlay, but I'd much rather a couple of dedicated fans went rather than there being two empty seats. Cheers fellow Nelsonians!12176

- Ponder, Learn, MuseIn World Outside The Window11 June 2020In English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts.. So in old England , when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them 'Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down.' It's where we get the phrase 'mind your P's and Q's'12

- The Corona WorldIn World Outside The Window29 November 2021"systematic review and meta analysis of non-pharmaceutical interventions has found mask wearing the most effective." - reported in The Guardian. "Mask-wearing is the single most effective public health measure at tackling Covid, according to the first global study of its kind, which found that the measure was linked to a 53% fall in the incidence of the disease." "Vaccines are safe and effective and saving lives around the world. But most do not confer 100% protection, most countries have not vaccinated everyone, and it is not yet known if jabs will prevent future transmission of emerging coronavirus variants."12
- The Corona WorldIn World Outside The Window13 July 2021The numbers are going back up here in NL too. Mostly due to the Delta-variant being brought back and spread by mainly student/young adults that have travelled abroad. As a high risk person (65, short, fat, ugly 😉) and a misanthrope, I am still very happy to social distance and generally avoid contact with my fellow man of any age. We had our second shots last week. Unfortunately it was still AstraZeneca. (I figure that we got it because our age group showed the least amount of side-effects. They had to use it on someone.) Seeing that it is the least effective of the vaccines against the original and Delta variants, we will still be wearing masks and taking precautions. Hopefully NL will come around to allowing booster shots in the fall. Unlike other countries, they have been very slow in allowing mixed vaccinations. In fact, they allowed it a week AFTER we had our second shots. Just like they allowed people to pick their vaccine 3 weeks after we got our first shot. Well one must hope for the best mustn't one?12
- The Corona WorldIn World Outside The Window14 June 2021Boris Johnson to plead for "one last heave to freedom" as he delays further loosening of restrictions. "One last heave" - to me that sounds as idiotic and clownish as his "take it on the chin" characterisation of the herd immunity plan. There's nothing final about this pandemic in the short-term. He's setting up unrealistic expectations - as he did from the start, and as he seems to do with everything he addresses.12

- The Corona WorldIn World Outside The Window12 July 2021"The world is looking at us with disbelief". Good piece in the Financial Times on the UK government's insane approach, with hospital admissions in England now "accelerating upwards... and rising as steeply as they did in the last wave". Most scientists and health experts quoted - virologists, epidemiologists, etc - totally oppose the government's "dangerous", "irresponsible", "criminal" course of action.12
