- T-shirtsIn World Outside The Window23 March 2022D’you know that meme where a dog is sitting in the middle of a room on fire, looking all confused and saying, “this is fine”? I want somebody to modify that meme for me. There should be a heading saying “WORLD: 2022”. And the dog will have a “Biden” plate hanging off his neck. I can order printing custom designs on https://matohash.com/, their prices are very reasonable. I already purchased a hoodie from them, and both the clothing and the print were superb.00

- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window4 April 2021@Tourist No need for more replies my boy. Not really your arguement. Suggest you keep quiet and stay out and be a good boy.0
- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window30 March 2021Had first Astra Zeneca dose a few weeks ago. No side effects (I'm 58). Vaccine issues don't concern me as much as premature easing of anti-virus measures - leading to new surges and greater potential for emergence of vaccine-resistant strains. It's something that experts in the field have been warning about for many months. Usually unheeded. Meanwhile, I'm somewhat suspicious of the constant bad press that Astra Zeneca is getting. To me it has the hallmarks of a major influence campaign - although I can't imagine whose interests that might be in.00

- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window30 March 2021https://uk.yahoo.com/news/canadian-panel-recommends-astrazeneca-pause-174512937.html Please don't be panicked by this, but I thought I'd put it out there in line with my thoughts about sharing valid scientific information rather than letting the "pub scientist" hold court about something he knows nothing about. As a semi-retired, high level scientist please PM if I can help with any queries you may have. I will do my best to help you.00
- World Sleep DayIn World Outside The Window20 March 2021I know what you mean, Alan, regarding naps. Have only recently been able to successfully nap myself. Haven't been able to do that since my childhood when I'd spend quiet afternoons with my grandmother at her cottage, surrounded by creaking trees, squawking bluejays and chattering squirrels. After hunting for lizards and salamanders, somehow or other I could always get a nap in and quite easily!0

- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window4 April 2021@Tourist Hello my boy. Why is no one mentioning his sly dig about the moon landings or was that Northern humour??? FYI the Freemasons do exist, although they would rather have us believe that they do not. Great that you you are defending your mates, but I would prefer replies from the organ grinder/engine driver, not the monkey/oily rag.0
- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window29 March 2021Had a jab a month ago, (pfizer). No side effects at all.00
- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window3 April 2021Repost of my original posting with some clarification: I've recently had my first jab (Oxford Astra Zeneca) and have suffered some reaction. I'm 63 in a few days time. I'd be interested to hear of the experience of others with respect to having the jab (nothing controversial so far). I don't think all of the side effects are being reported on the NHS UK site (I still consider this to be true because as far as I can see there is no formal way of reporting new side effects. If anyone knows differently please advise). I'll post my experience if I get any response (meaning if I get a response to my posting). Please note that this post does not have any political or any other agenda, only to share information that may be withheld from the general public (OK withheld may have been a bad choice of words, but I didn't mean to imply anything else). As regards withholding information, in the UK we have the official secrets act. So individuals who have signed it and have been vetted can be prosecuted for passing on classified information. I'm not for the moment suggesting that this applies for anything to do with COVID-19. In fact I think that some of the press conferences have given too much information to the general public, particularly with the testing of the vaccines.00

- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window30 March 2021I said when I first posted that I didn't want this to turn into a political football, but then there's always one isn't there? Time for a chat with the forum moderators. I guess that's me, isn't it? I would stoutly defend my refutation of the conspiracy theory that "information may be withheld from the general public", and I would hope that the moderators would support me in that, provided I kept it civil and impersonal. You have no idea of my background. I was not like you, a professional scientist, but I would be happy to take you on in a science quiz covering just about any topic except your own specialist area :) BTW, I'd be interested to know what your specialist area actually is. When I use terms such as "my understanding", it is because I am always aware - as any scientist surely should be - that I may be incorrect. I totally agree with everything you say about the importance of having the jabs, and of continuing to take precautions afterwards. I hope that you recover, and that all goes well when you and your partner have your second jabs.0
- The New PresidentIn World Outside The Window26 March 2021We held an election. Democracy survived. We have sped up the distribution of COVID vaccine deliveries and inoculations. Twitter has almost calmed down. We approved another vaccine for use. Congress is getting back to work. How about you Brits? Is Boris doing a bang up job? Who is the new James Bond?00

- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window4 April 2021@roger_drew What a strange post... You accused Perfect Monster of being puerile, well there certainly is some childish behaviour, but maybe you should look a little closer to home! I seemed to have incurred Roger's wrath - what was my sin? I didn't remove a post from a forum member that dared to have a slightly different opinion (to the author) about one of the most globally talked about topics possibly in any of our lifetimes! I've got broad shoulders and welcome 'constructive' criticism. But temper tantrums and throwing toys out of cots just makes me chuckle. I would ask that in future, if you want to hurl insults and abuse at me, please have the decency to spell my name correctly (as Tourist has pointed out), my name is Jon (short for Jonathan), there is no 'h'.0
- COVID-19 JABSIn World Outside The Window8 May 2021Do you dream in color? Are you looking forward to the Spielberg West Side Story redo? You may have experienced a temporal anomaly, where you briefly glimpsed the future. [Hint: it is gritty and noisy.] More than likely, it was the nano-bots taking over control of your body. It is a central nervous system thing. There is an adjustment period that is not unexpected. You are now awaiting orders.0
