- The long and winding supermarket queueIn World Outside The Window11 April 2020A bit of edginess here as well, but it’s to be expected with the distancing. I have to switch on to ‘calm mode’ when I start feeling myself giving in to impatience.0
- LockdownIn World Outside The Window17 April 2020Not missing anything. I generally work from home. This gives me the perfect excuse to not make my bi-weekly 90 minute (one way) trip to the office for a while. The only thing that I have to cope with is having my wife home too. That is working out better than I expected. However, we are going thru the coffee much faster. When I do go out, I really appreciate the fact that the center is not overrun with kids, dogs and cigarettes (the Dutch big-3). A lot less dodging of the mommies that use their prams like tanks to clear a path. Of course, I am, more than a little, misanthropic. As they say, it is 'An yll wynde, that blowth no man to good' 😀00
- COVID-19 drinks: pick your poisonIn World Outside The Window23 May 2023Apologies for reviving this old thread, but I’d like to give my two cents. It has been quite the adventure of exploring new drinks while staying indoors. Can't wait to see what everyone else was sipping on during these unprecedented times. But, while it was fun experimenting with drinks at home during the lockdown, I'm thrilled that the COVID restrictions have finally been lifted. Now I can happily head out and enjoy drinks and pub food near me! It's such a relief to be able to socialize and savor the atmosphere of our favorite local spots again. Cheers to good times ahead!00
- COVID-19 drinks: pick your poisonIn World Outside The Window20 April 2020Good on you dude! We have also been drinking a lot of tea. I made a couple liters of fresh mint/ginger/lime tea and stuck it in the fridge. We went thru the first liter on Saturday. Very tasty indeed.0

- The long and winding supermarket queueIn World Outside The Window11 April 2020We’ve got something similar here where a certain amount of people are allowed in at a time. The larger the establishment, the longer the lines outside of it. Haven’t gotten the hang of it quite yet. Obviously, avoid the big stores at the weekend.0
- Can no longer resize imagesIn World Outside The Window6 March 2020Just wunna dem fings, Jon. Went up to the Bill Evans photo’ I posted looking low-res and I remember resizing it before, choosing the appropriate option. Tried it again and it was a no-go, just that big, dumb size looking low-res. That photo’ of Bill that Steve Jansen took, available at his WordPress blog called ‘Sleepyard,’ when I first saw it, made me imagine what the backstory was if I’d not known it was Bill. I thought, ‘Playboy son of a corrupt Indian politician in exile.’ I texted the photo’ to a pal of mine who happens to be a drummer and in a band I’m in. He texted back, ‘BN as martial artist rogue.’ I like that one. It’s not better than mine, but just as good. 😊00

- Can no longer resize imagesIn World Outside The Window11 March 2020But would you class it as an ‘improvement’? 🤣 Just hope it’s workable for you! But, it’s nothing to do with me, the forum providers just do these things! 😳0
- Can no longer resize imagesIn World Outside The Window6 March 2020All of the images I posted in ‘Photos’ if I go back in and try to resize some of them, I cannot. The tool doesn’t work anymore. No big deal, though. Probably one of those mysteries that’ll work itself out, like the video upload feature eventually did.0
