The Metropolis Studio live session that was marketed on DVD as one of the 'Legends' series, (and some of which has apparently found its way onto youtube,) was the Duesenberg guitar on 'Maid In Heaven' if I remember correctly, though, of course. it was my 345 on the original record from the '70s. You may be surprised but I've never actually watched the Legends DVD, though I do have a copy of it. If anyone puts it on here at home, I immediately leave the room. For one thing, I can't stand to watch myself, and for another, I get very upset by how badly I was ripped off by the company who issued the thing. It just makes me depressed and angry..

@Alec When not displaying, the body just has two horizontal dark bands, but the fins are always that colour. I bred them once. Must get some more if my aquarist association starts having fish auctions again.

@Bill Nelson I've got four of them already. The only one still in stock that I don't have is the new 800, but I'm more inclined to save up for your Astroluxe Cadet.

I remember this photo' in the book The Rolling Stone Illustrated History of Rock & Roll that my mother gave me when I was a young un. Of course the guitar was the first shape that caught my eye, but I was also very impressed with those shoes and then the rest of the outfit.

Makes me think of silver spurs, silver stars, white gloves, white hats ...

One can always pick out the photographs from Britain from a certain era. It's been explained to me before and I've read about it before. It's to do with the way the dots appear. They seem to create clusters. Is it Daguerreotype? Maybe it's the same in the US as well. It creates a dreamily fuzzy sound, those dots. It's a fuzz-tone guitar or synth sound.

Those two smiling women with the German sounding names and oh so forced smiles freaked me out. Especially 'Rigmor'. Full name Rigmortis Rictus?

Yes Bill in many ways his story was sad, but also an inspiring one. IMHO there seemed to be a complete freedom in his playing.

Love the op art presentation. It encourages the modern approach to playing and amplification ... and is 20-30 years before new wave aesthetic that must've peaked around 1982 or 1983.

I've been in many a high street music shop that isn't as well stocked and as fascinating as your music rooms Bill .and If it were a shop id never be out the place .
