- U.K.SUBS...In World Outside The Window·23 December 2024First wave punk band. I'm a massive fan, still, and seen them many times. Any other fans here? I usually can't stand old bands churning out the same old stuff from decades past and many times, I think it's quite sad really. But with the U.K.SUBS, I don't feel any of that. I'm posting part of a set they performed in Amsterdam, earlier this year, and they sound bang on. You gotta remember, Charlie Harper (singer) had just turned 80 years old when they played this gig, I mean, not bad going and he still sounds pretty damn good. - Bill Facebook pageIn William's World10 September 2023I’m not a ‘friend’ of Bills on Facebook and the background to that is at the time he started on there I was avoiding all social media and I mistakenly as it turns out assumed he would continue to use this, his own dedicated website (Dreamsville) to keep fans posted. By the time I realised Bill was primarily using FB to communicate with his followers and took the step of opening an account with the sole purpose of keeping up to date with his activities, was unable to be his friend as he’d already acquired 5,000 ‘friends’, which I understand is the maximum he was / is allowed to have. I’ve had an open request on FB to become Bills friend on there for ages now – I’m always hopeful! On a positive note though, I am a member of the excellent Bill Nelson and Be Bop Deluxe (official FB group) and strangely don’t have any of these problems, not even with Bills own posts on there?: -2

- Single Track of the DayIn World Outside The Window4 March 2025I remember so clearly, being on holiday on the east coast with my parents in September 1973 and buying Aladdin Sane from a high-street record shop whilst there. I recall the sheer buzz and excitement of finally having this LP in my hands, five months, or so, after it's release, it was electric, I was a king...and I remember as soon as we arrived back home and dad opened the front door, I shot into my bedroom and put the album on my small stereo record player straight away. I even recall my dad popping into my bedroom, towards the end of the first side (actually, it was the start of side-2, 'Time') and enquiring 'What's your new LP like Nick?', to which I replied, 'magic dad, pure magic'...Oh so happy days, and the timeless power of great music.2

- 'Do you Dream in Colour' on Marillion LP sleeveIn William's World·5 May 2022May have been remarked on before, but in case not: - One of the comments posted to Youtube for Bill's classic 'Do you Dream in Colour?' video states that the commenter had gone searching for the record after seeing its cover pictured on a Marillion LP sleeve. Hmm - I hadn't heard that before, so I went looking - and indeed here it is, on the back cover of Marillion's 1983 'Script for a Jester's Tear' LP. I've blown it up for you to compare. You're welcome! Apparently, the other records shown are Pink Floyd's 'A Saucerful of Secrets', and a couple of Marillion singles.21346
