Bill Nelson is an artist who was ahead of his time in many ways. When Sound-On-Sound came out in 1979, it was unlike anything that came before it. Upon release it's intricacies, loudness, and low fidelity perplexed critics and Bill's prior fans, becoming a very divisive album. This reminds me of another album that released just a decade prior and remains to this day a divisive album, that being Captain Beefheart's Trout Mask Replica. Given the fact that the record received much attention since it's release, I'm certain Bill must be aware of it. Has he ever brought up the album in interviews or anything? What are his thoughts on the album?
