The “Tattoo You” tour, in the old Astrodome in Houston.
Was telling a friend with me that it was a shame that we were indoors, as The Stones did an incredible fireworks finale on their outdoor stadium shows.
The Stones had the fireworks set off, anyway. Rockets zooming up, then bouncing off the roof of the Astrodome. Total bedlam as people on the field in General Admission were scrambling to get out of the way.
Somewhere, a fire marshall was having a heart attack.
They played the Astrodome the next night as well, but I bet they didn’t get to shoot anything off.
Found another small stash of tickets in an old photo album:
I was into Robert Palmer big time in the early eighties and beyond. " dreams to remember".
On this date, in 2004.
.
Saw Weather Report in 1976, 1979 and 1980.
Lucky.
.
Honestly, I have no memory of this show.

The tour with the other “P”.

This was my first show in Kansas City, when I moved here in 1987.
Had been bummed that I was going to miss them in Houston, because of the move.
The “Midnight To Midnight” tour. The Furs were not keen on that album, but I like it quite a bit.
.
Lead-on act was Steve Morse (of the Dixie Dregs), doing an all acoustic set.
For the encore, all four guitarists performed together. It was amazing.

Speaking of…
