@Alec Yes, I can see what you're saying...But, the whole point of a restoration is to sensitively restore whatever you are working on, to it's original condition and appearance (or, as close as is possible)....So viewed from that perspective, the fact that it was supposed to be an art restoration, the end result is, err, baffling...to say the least.
I suppose if the remit had been along the lines of, interpret, reinvent and create to your own vision of the original, one could perhaps more readily accept the end result..😉😃
..and, I don't dislike the end result either......but as a restoration!?..mmm.
I mean, could it be just a 'temporary head', while the original has been removed and maybe taken to a studio to work on properly?
I don't know...is it a joke?, am I missing something glaringly obvious?, whatever.
Has to be on purpose, right? Help me out. It's more Cubist, more halibut than potato head.
I know nothing re this and haven't had time to read the link, but it's got to be a joke..I think someone's taking the p.....quite funny though.
Yeh. I like both, tbh 🤔

Fascinating anyway.
@Tourist good points and considering the previous world-famously awful restorations from Spain, this looks very calculated in comparison.
One's gotta think of the last six words of the last song Syd Barrett did with the band, which also happens to be the last song on the record, when one considers it all ...
Gocha!
