First saw her in the late 1970s at the legendary Anderson Fair Retail Restaurant in Houston, TX. A very small venue (dinner included) where a number of those Texas singer/songwriters got their start.

I saw her a few times in the 90s, once at the now demolished Fox theater in downtown Portland. Guy Clark opened and it was a pretty sweet show. The last time was in 1995 at the Rose Garden Amphitheater just above downtown Portland in the west hills. The show was sold out. Myself and a friend showed up at the venue anyway and scored tickets at face value from a seller just before showtime. Both were front row seats, dead center in front of the stage. It was a great concert. RIP Ms. Griffith.
