Ronald Bell, a.k.a., Khalis Bayyan definitely had a catchy approach to music like some of his contemporaries, with jazz, pop and uniquely addictive backing vox. I liked the kind of deadpan singing as well in front. Jungle Boogie from childhood onward is an addictive song and when I was a teen, I found Get Down On It irresistible, even though I didn't want to find it irresistible and even though it was overplayed. I have to confess I didn't like Celebration although at an NBL game or an NFL game and an NBA game, it really sunk in how great it is. She's Fresh I loved straight away, which was the same for Ladies Night , but .... ughh .... really tried to ignore Joanna , even though that didn't last long. Those backing vocals were and are soooo intoxicating. Joanna is up there with Jungle Boogie in my opinion.
