Watching this show because Harold Budd provides the beautiful soundtrack.
A lotta yelling.
Reckon it's trying to be in the John Cassavetes style (and not getting there, in my humble opinion).
Apart from the all the yelling, it's got plenty of nice atmospherics, has an interesting story, heart's-in-the-right place psychological drama.
I Know This Much is True ...
Don't know if the Spandau Ballet hit song that many of us in my generation loved features at some point.
It's very much from various eras, including the Ambient 2: The Plateaux of Mirror, By The Dawn's Early Light and Luxa eras of Harold's material.
Heard the e-bow guitar stylings of Bill Nelson just now. 😎
Hey Alec,
Thanks for the heads up.
I’m halfway through the series.
It’s a very tense, gritty drama - engaging story, just a bit light on the laughter and gaiety.
Harold Budd gets the on-screen credit, and contributes most of the music, but there’s also a lot of other good stuff on the soundtrack. Here’s a list -

Which also shows which albums the pieces are from.
Seems to me it’s all taken from Budd’s existing recordings, there’s nothing new or specially-recorded to picture.
Maybe Harold will put Bill’s name forward for HBO’s next blockbuster?
Just a suggestion.
Marty.
