I've recently had my first jab (Oxford Astra Zeneca) and have suffered some reaction. I'm 63 in a few days time. I'd be interested to hear of the experience of others with respect to having the jab. I don't think all of the side effects are being reported on the NHS UK site. I'll post my experience if I get any response. Please note that this post does not have any political or any other agenda, only to share information that may be withheld from the general public.

The dreams were colour or at least colourful. Wish I’d documented some of them. As for the music, all I remember was it was nice, nice, very nice. Funny you mention ‘West Side Story’ as I had just told someone the other day that Russ Tamblyn was in that movie. As for Spielberg, my favourite is still ‘Duel.’ Haven’t heard that song by Midge Ure about the Spielberg skies, but I know what he means, I think. Was surprised that Colin Moulding mentioned Spielberg in song lyrics in that recent project with Terry Chambers. I’d read that he’d wanted to mention David Wise instead, but it didn’t work. The drowsiness did provide some days of sound sleep, which I’m grateful for. Grateful also how quickly the slight pain at the jab point subsided so quickly. Mild side effects, all-in-all, and not too exciting, seems like. Some people who’ve done the one-two punch jab have told me the second one’s a bit more intense, side-effects-wise. Other people have told me they experienced no side effects after the second jab. One other side effect I remember now that I experienced the first day and the following day was an odd taste in my mouth. Glad that went away quickly.
Had my first Moderna jab at a Walgreens on 28 April and when walking back from that, I had a mild euphoria near what my mother used to refer to as”the washing-machine agitator church” in San Francisco (Cathedral of Saint Mary of The Assumption) and experienced approximately 10 seconds of audio and visual hallucinations, like the world’s briefest mushroom trip. Had some pain for a few days near the jab spot on left shoulder and as of today I’m feeling as though I’m emerging from what’s been termed as “vax fog.” Since the 28th of April, I’ve had wild, vivid dreams with dramatic, orchestral soundtracks, but as of last night those seem to have stopped as well. Next jab’s on my birthday.
Am 56. Got Astra Zeneca jab a few weeks ago, and had a sore arm for a few days. (Same as with flu jab). Otherwise, totally fine. No painful arm after a few days, and have been really well since.
We had our AZ jabs last Friday. So far, so good. Only stiff arms and a bit of tiredness. 2nd shot is not until July.
Well I did turn into a zombie. My soul went to Heaven. Thank you Jesus. I am now wondering around looking to upgrade my computer and suddenly I am liking Zydeco music. I am emotionally dead.
Maybe I just want to be Simon Pegg's pet.
Repost of my original posting with some clarification:
I've recently had my first jab (Oxford Astra Zeneca) and have suffered some reaction. I'm 63 in a few days time. I'd be interested to hear of the experience of others with respect to having the jab (nothing controversial so far). I don't think all of the side effects are being reported on the NHS UK site (I still consider this to be true because as far as I can see there is no formal way of reporting new side effects. If anyone knows differently please advise). I'll post my experience if I get any response (meaning if I get a response to my posting). Please note that this post does not have any political or any other agenda, only to share information that may be withheld from the general public (OK withheld may have been a bad choice of words, but I didn't mean to imply anything else).
As regards withholding information, in the UK we have the official secrets act. So individuals who have signed it and have been vetted can be prosecuted for passing on classified information. I'm not for the moment suggesting that this applies for anything to do with COVID-19. In fact I think that some of the press conferences have given too much information to the general public, particularly with the testing of the vaccines.
Hi gang - I'm back! After getting some friends and family to look at this thread I have decided to come back and not be wound up (by Perfect Monster), or bullied off the forum. I did hope to resolve things with a private e-mail chat with John, but IMHO John cannot take constructive criticism re his moderation of the forum or doesn't like his opinion to be challenged. One thing that struck me is that John overlooked the comment about the moon landings that started the whole thing off and has sided with Perfect Monster since. Is this a fellow Yorkshireman thing, Freemasons together? Being surrounded by sycophants? Who knows??? Anyway I will repost my original posting to clarify some things that Perfect Monster challenged. I'm also going to start a thread about Freemasons on internet forums. Hopefully I should get a few comments from any women on the forum about an outdated, male only secret society designed to get favours from others.
In the meantime I have asked friends and family to register with the forum to support me. They are not fans of Bill's, but then the World outside the Window is nothing to do with Bill's music. IMHO too many internet forums consists of horrible cliques and so I intend to redress the balance. May the battles commence!!!
PS Brilliant to see that the Mighty Donald Trump is thinking of standing again :) Perhaps some of the forum members from the USA can explain what the procedure is if a president dies or becomes incapable in office? Also can a president be prosecuted for his dog repeatedly biting people?
I'm off. I came to this forum a long time ago because of my interest in Bill's music. Then I very naively thought I'd start a thread about COVID-19 vaccinations to share experiences, in no way thinking that any of the stinking, vile politics that appear on the rest of this site might appear. Well I was wrong. So much for unmoderated forums. Good Bye.
Judy and I had our first shot of Moderna a couple of weeks ago. The second is due in a couple more weeks. Other than a sore arm for about twenty-four hours, neither of us had any side-effects.
I know a good many people who have had one or two shots, usually Moderna or Pfizer, and no one has reported any serious side-effects. I'm not sure I've spoken to anyone, around here (Tampa, FL), who had Astra Zeneca or Johnson & Johnson.
Apart from a slightly sore arm, I didn't have any reaction to my Pfizer jab. However, I have been told that you are more likely to get a reaction to the second jab. I'll find out in May.

I've had an Astra-Zeneca jab, my wife has had both of hers (!) (Pfizer-Biontech).
I felt a bit tired the next day and took it easy, but other than that I've been fine.
My wife had had bit of a sore arm after her first jab but was completely fine after
her second, which is typical for the P-B vaccine. She's been volunteering at local vaccination centres, so when they had some vaccine left over after a session they used it up on volunteers
which is why she's had her second jab early.
We're both in our mid 60s.
Just waiting for my second jab now and obeying the restrictions that are still
in force.
Had first Astra Zeneca dose a few weeks ago. No side effects (I'm 58).
Vaccine issues don't concern me as much as premature easing of anti-virus measures - leading to new surges and greater potential for emergence of vaccine-resistant strains. It's something that experts in the field have been warning about for many months. Usually unheeded.
Meanwhile, I'm somewhat suspicious of the constant bad press that Astra Zeneca is getting. To me it has the hallmarks of a major influence campaign - although I can't imagine whose interests that might be in.
Wow, I'm grateful that my wife and I (both 60) had no side effects at all - one AZ and one Pfizer.
When I found out that people of my ethnicity, as well as health condition, were most likely to get COVID-19 and die, I could not wait for the vaccine. So when it became available to me upon my Indian Reservation, I took it immediately. Moderna, the two shot variety. First shot, felt like a shot, some muscle pain, a headache, then fine. But shot #2 felt like I broke my arm. It felt like I was tackled (American football) from behind and driven into the ground. My upper chest and arm where I got the shot were impacted for about 3 days.
Now I am over the numbing fright of an unpleasant death. Seven members of my tribe have died. We could not even have our traditional big funerals. That has been the hardest part.
We have vaccinated everyone, as far as I can tell. The Elders, the Infirmed, the First Responders, the front line people, the School Teachers, and all the staff, regardless of age or race. Here in North America that has been par for the course within Indian Country. I think it has to do with our much smaller numbers and our self government.
Maybe it is an aftereffect, but I feel optimistic and have ventured out, beyond the grocery store. I feel like my baseball team will do good this year. I even bought a Bill Nelson album that has not been released yet! And hope to get it under 8 weeks! [Do CD's from the UK go though the Suez Canal?] By that time he will be asking us what to name his next one?
Please don't be panicked by this, but I thought I'd put it out there in line with my thoughts about sharing valid scientific information rather than letting the "pub scientist" hold court about something he knows nothing about. As a semi-retired, high level scientist please PM if I can help with any queries you may have. I will do my best to help you.
Thanks for the responses guys. I said when I first posted that I didn't want this to turn into a political football, but then there's always one isn't there? Time for a chat with the forum moderators.
My own experience is as follows. I had concerns about having a COVID-19 jab due to a shellfish allergy. I know that in the UK precautions exist at vaccination centres, such as having defibs available. So I contacted my GP. Here is his response:
"Unless patients have had documented anaphylaxis to the constituents of the C19 vaccines, including polyethylene glycol, there is no contraindication to having either AstraZeneca or PfizerBioNtech. A previous shellfish allergy which doesnt require carrying of an EpiPen adrenaline pen is reassuring too. The formulations do not contain antibiotics nor shellfish products and are not live vaccines. I hope that is reassuring". For those interested and able to understand there is a lot of information about how the different vaccines are designed and how they work.
So I went ahead and had the Oxford Astra Zeneca jab on the evening of Tue 23 March, although a sister who lives in a different area of the UK was give the Pfizer jab due to her allergies. After getting home I experienced tingling in my left arm (the one I had the jab in), tingling in my mouth and teeth and an unpleasant metallic taste in my mouth. While this isn't documented in any NHS literature I have seen it mentioned on several internet sites, particularly in the USA. Anyway the following day I just felt tired with general 'flu symptoms. While the 'flu symptons have gone I still feel tired (although I often do when the clocks go forward in the UK), but have also developed significant pain and stiffness in my back and left shoulder, which are sites of previous issues. I have called the UK 111 medical service. They suggested that it might be coincidental. Gradually the stiffness is going away. My partner who has just turned 50 has also has the OAZ jab. She had quite severe 'flu/tiredness symptoms the following day, then stomach pain and feeling sick the day after that. On the third day after the jab she was fine.
I know that some of the people to have the worst reactions have been young carers in the 20-30 year old age group, particularly for the first few days of after having the jab.
Ultimately we have to remember that the vaccines have been developed over a period on months rather than the usual period of years. So the testing to get approvals has been compromised somewhat, but then these are unprecedented times. I think the risk of not having a jab and being infected far outweigh the risks involved in having one.
Even if anyone has had one or two vaccine doses I would still urge the use of masks, social distancing and hand washing - absolute essentials IMHO. If anyone needs more genuine information rather than "pub heresay" please PM me, but please be wary of bullshit and misinformation from "pub scientists" who really know nothing and use terms such as "my understanding", holding court to the masses while telling them nothing. It's the very often undervalued professional scientists who are potentially saving the World, not the pub experts (and school children like they are with climate change not!).

Had my first Pfizer vaccine last Friday. Got an instant headache, and my arm felt like someone shot me with a bullet! Side effects lasted about 48 hours, then I was OK.
Tom
I had the Moderna vaccine. First dose on 22 February. Just a little chill the evening of the injection. Fine the morning after.
Second dose on 25 March. Okay the first day. The afternoon the next day, had joint aches, and slight fever that lasted the rest of the day. By the evening, a distinct chill with some sweats. Went to bed earlier than usual. Slept longer than usual. Fine by the next day.
